I imported the AC matches after Team State. The stas that got updated mat have been because another team imported matches that your wrestlers participated in. Not sure about that, though.

For those not in the know. A crazy night is getting lawn chairs and staring at the only traffic light in town.

Monroe (AC) is the one stop light town in Adams County. Even Berne (South Adams) has 3 lights. Our stoplight is outside the town limits, so no one goes clear out there to watch traffic. We settle for buggies going through town.

Saw the email sent to AC. Per Tony, the IHSAA is using TrackWrestling for weight management this year. Ohio and other states already do it. You still have to buy the stats program if you want to use it for that as well.

It's been an emotional week for Woodlan coach Anthony Girod. He lost a good friend and assistant coach in an auto accident and this morning i saw that he is being deployed to the Middle East with the Air national Guard for at least six months. Keep safe, Coach. and thanks for your service.

I think 7 is a little too high since you're using this year's numbers to project next year's teams. A team with only 7 this year may be mostly underclassmen and have 9 or 10 or more the next year. I wouldn't set the limit lower than 5 since that gives them room to grow above the 7 limit.

No, the draw can be different for each weight. There's only a limited number of combinations, though, so some weights will be the same.

Jay County has 26 for 9 teams. 120 has the most at 4 and only 132 and 145 don't have any.

Adams Central has a unique situation this year that may have occurred at other schools. We have four different sets of brothers on the team, Hunter (152) and Parker (113/120) Bates, Nash (220) and Trey (126/132) Brunner, Anthony (120/126) and Logan (106) Mosser, and Dylan (285) and Chandler (195) Schumm . All have at least 10 varsity matches, but when Parker was inserted into the lineup it usually bumped Trey out. All eight brothers wrestled a varsity match together for the first time last Saturday vs. the Perry B team at the Warren Duals and they won 7 of the 8 matches. Their combined record for the season is 165-52. Anyone else have that many different sets wrestle at the same time?

Adams Central's Christmas break is the same as Bellmont's.

Triton should do well. They've had a tougher schedule than both these teams and have been very competitive.

Have you looked at Adams Cental's schedule? Three of our losses are to the #1, #2, and #4 seeds at the 2A duals. Triton's schedule so far looks tougher than Knightstown because you've wrestled some bigger schools, but not as hard as AC or Prairie Heights. And we still have Warren Central, Ben Davis, and Roncalli coming up.

We'll miss Fred at AC, too. There's been a close bond between the Dwenger and AC wrestling teams for years because of the example Fred set and expected from his wrestlers. An example that has continued through his successors. His gravelly voice will be missed. Whether he was in the stands or at matside you could always find Fred by following the voice. Condolences to the Tone and entire Dwenger family from AC.

The winter bulletin says the 2 pound allowance takes effect on or after 1/1/2016. Section II.D.1

We ran into this at MS event several years ago. One school had a Friday night event, but their AD didn't notify the host school. Some of their wrestlers were over weigh, but they couldn't get the weight allowance because the other schools couldn't be notified in advance and given the same weight opportunitie.

True second at the finals would be a waste. Every wrestler's dream is to win the championship. If they get to that match and lose they won't care about wrestling another match. Did you see Sawyer Miller's face on the podium? He'd lost the goal he'd chased since he was little. If he had to wrestle again he wouldn't have had his heart in the match. I don't think you'd end up with a true second because of those kinds of emotions.

Schools would have to dismiss early or cancel to allow other students to attend the Friday night round 1 and I don't see the IHSAA sanctioning that. Even basketball couldn't get that approved. I'd rather see wrestle-backs at  regional and semi-state so that the 16 that get there are the best ones from each region and not the result of a fortunate draw.

I'm ashamed to say I missed the one in 1998 when AC didn't have any qualifiers. Other than that I've been to every one since 1980 (before many of the people on here were born).

Sounds like the opening round at Carroll was pretty wild. In filling out  the team duals spreadsheet I noticed there were 4 sectional champions and 6 sectional runners-up that were eliminated in the opening round.

Oliver got a concussion at Warren Central that ended his career. Unfortunately, he finished with 99 career wins & won't get a shot at 100.

In this case we're trying to determine the best teams to participate and a team with only 6 wrestlers can't win any matches. The other problem is that we're trying to use this year's data to determine next year's teams. A team may only have 6 this year, but have 5 or 6 freshmen in next year, so maybe I should have voted for 3 or more.

I misread the title of the "IHSAA 3 Champs" topic and thought it referred to the coaches tourney. That made me check back through our records and I found that Kaine Luginbill has participated in the tourney all three years and is a perfect 10-0. More impressive is that those wins include 9 pins and 1 forfeit. I'm sure there are other wrestlers who have gone undefeated all three years of the tourney. Let's hear it.

One suggestion for a new feature - On the information screens that list wrestler, coach, or team; how about adding an alphabet link to the top of the page that jumps you to the first entry that starts with that letter. Then, if I want to see the information for Marion or a school somewhere in the middle of the alphabet I can get close in one click instead of paging through several screens.

We used it for the first time last year and will use it again. Easy to use and score mat-side. And, if the tournament is run on Track Wrestling, like all of our tournament series events, you can use their scoring for stats and not score your own on the app.
