Advancement Points
Each advancement in championship bracket: 1 point
Each advancement in consolation bracket: 0.5 point
Bye followed by win in championship bracket: 1 point
Bye followed by win in consolation bracket: 0.5 pointDid this change recently? Advancement was always 2 points for the championship bracket and 1 for the consolation.

Video of the match is archived on the Berne Witness site under the On Demand button.

I'm not sure what the actual attendance was, but there had to be 2500 fans or more at the Bellmont - Adams Central Dual last night. They delayed the start of the JV matches by half an hour because of the long line of fans waiting to get in. It was a great atmosphere and the fans weren't disappointed. The teams split the matches 7-7 and Bellmont won on bonus points 38-32. Thanks to Nat Bryan for taking this picture of the crowd.

Curious to see if the weights are correct at the end of the line up for AC. The new weight classes (awful in my opinion) did the team 0 favors. See if the rumors I have been told are true or not.
The projected roster and weight classes should be on the website in the next week. You're correct about the new weights. We return the top four weights from last year, all with 30+ wins, but there's only three weight classes for them.

Denny Schwartz?
Denny was the regional champion at 119 in both 1991 and 1992. I don't know if he wrestled Ester or not though.

Adams Central finishes 4th in the Community 2 Silver bracket, 20th overall out of 47 teams. This is with a line-up that had 7 wrestlers who will be freshmen or sophomores next year. Five AA awards:
Gold: Senior Trevor Currie
Silver: Sophomore Maverick Dubach and Freshman Dylan Ogg
Bronze: Senior Wyatt McAfee and Junior Matt Heiser

Basketball finals would be easier, too, since it's a team and not individual tournament. They could send each class to a large high school gym. They don't need fans from 50-60 different schools in one location.

Interesting that these 40 teams (13% of wrestling schools) have essentially exactly 50% of the state qualifiers (113 out of 224).
Actually, it kind of makes sense to me. The qualification is based on how far a teams individuals advanced in the individual tournament last year, so those teams should be returning wrestlers with the potential to advance this year.

Has to suck pulling up all of the tables and having to put mats out daily, unless you have some quick Velcro Dollamurs or similar.
They don't bother moving the tables. That's why the Prairie Heights freshmen are so tough.

Sounds like Currie just isn't taking a liking to Myers' beard.
It was actually Myers' request. He always was jealous of Tony's clean-cut good looks.

Adams Central move from Pool E to Pool H and Delta went from Pool E to Pool G so three teams from the same regional won't meet until the medal rounds.

Adams Central is taking 4 tying the 1990 team for second most to advance.

I haven't seen anything about the2022 qualification measures yet. Always a popular topic to follow (and argue about).

That's terrible. I was hoping when it happened it was just a stinger or a joint separation. This brings up Aiden Miller as the backup? How does that change brackets?
All of the seeded wrestlers move up one spot: McAfee #1, Lewis #2, Wanner #3, Gage #4. Not sure if there was a 6 seed or a "first drawn wrestler." If so, they will go to #5 seed and Miller will take their spot.

Should be yes, but they took a hit with Gavin Davis’ departure due to an injury.
Is that a recent change? He still shows as the #1 seed at 145.

I’ll take Bruce Wood
Bruce is a good one. AC is lucky to have an assistant with 17 years experience as a head coach in Ryan Landis.

I haven't seen this anywhere on the site yet so I wanted to let people know. Prairie Heights 152 pounder, Tyler Curtis, was killed in a car accident last week. Tyler qualified for the semi-state this year. His younger brother, Chace was also killed in the same accident. Please keep the family and the entire Prairie Heights community in your prayers.

I think that if the takedown is changed to 3 points and they implement the 2-3-4 nearfall points the total needed for a tech fail should increase to 18-20. You could see a lot of wrestlers going for the quick tech fail, but the goal should still be getting a fall.
