    Aubin over May

Tishner and Goss will be close

    Johnson over Clark

Glithero vs Costello was 9-7 in the regular season

    Lone over Euson

    Phillips over Cast

    Sanders over Kooltokian

    Hinton over Weingart

Nate Johnson vs Whitenack could be close too

Got a couple Fort Wayne 4 over 1's in here for you Fort Wayne guys.

Euson has been dominate this year, I would be shocked if he is outside the top 6

Goodwin is very good. Could he win it? Absolutely. I am taking Law and Conway for sure over him and maybe even Boe. Jendreas will have Schaefer Saturday morning. Think it will be a very close match, very excited to see how it plays out. Again, these are just my opinions, not looking to get attacked just my two cents.

The whole premise of your original post was to excite the CP/EC faithful and illicit a response so you could "debate" the legitimacy of the ECSS.  I don't mind people having opinions, although I do wish several people on here would express them a lot less often... I digress.  Most minds on this forum believes CP is the best dual team and tournament team in the state of Indiana this year.  No doubt Brownsburg is right there with them, and CG & Irish are a step behind.

Indysportsfan , I done the same break down. I think you might of missed a Ranked 220lber. I counted 8 and 110 total. Also the Ticket/Blood rounds for the EVSS are

Brutal!!  Better have your A game or you will not Advance to INdy!!   Great Info

You were correct, thank you sir.

  4. There are 25 ranked wrestlers per each weight class; if all SS's were evenly weighted they would average 6.25 ranked wrestlers per weight.  Based on historical data, the rankings are incredibly accurate, an assumption can be made from the #'s which weights are going to be the toughest at each SS.

Heard Kerk was wrestling injured last year and he was a pretty small heavy tbh. He beat Mason at the trials the last time they wrestled so I think it will be closer than what people think, I do think Mason gets him though. Amine and Brooks is probably my favorite matchup.

If I recall, it was on criteria and in the very last seconds.  I get it, a win is a win, but dominating him in Folk then losing in Free on criteria does not make the match closer in my eyes.  Of course anything can happen, and as they say that is why the wrestle, but I would put the odds at 90/10 on a Parris victory.  But God knows I have lost $$ before betting on who I thought was a clear favorite.

To me Brooks adjust his style to the opponent/score better than Amine.  I like Brooks to win a close one, with a 3rd period TD in the last 45 seconds.

I am making the drive to Ann Arbor to watch Friday, heard Nick missed the last dual due to being a close contact. Hope to see him vs. Micic Friday. Also, could it come down to Parris vs Kerk for the dual, I think it might.

Parris defeated Kerkvliet convincingly last year (11-3) and I expect the same result will occur if they meet on Friday.  I have Lee winning by 3-4 points -- the dual will be decided in the 3 pickem matches at 164, 174, and 184.

*Sam Hansen is long gone, and won't be wrestling at 182.  His baby brother Luke will be at 182 on Wednesday night:-)

Just a quick update on Sam, the 2018 state runner-up at 195.  He is in his final year of seminary at Bishop Brute' here in Indianapolis.  He is studying to be a priest in the Catholic church and is completely happy. He'll be spending time and Creighton University this summer and traveling to the Holy Land in May.  When he returns he'll spend the next four years in formation at St. Meinrad Seminary in Southern Indiana.

The sacrifices he made in wrestling were always opportunities to grow closer to God, and I guarantee the homilies that he gives will be filled with stories about growing in his relationship with God through the life-changing sport of wrestling.

Please keep Sam in your prayers as he journeys towards ordination!

Luke is also a hammer, my apology on the wrong name!

I hope that it is that close.  I pretty much agree with your predictions but I see the Irish piling up lots of bonus points and I also predict an Irish victory at 160.

You believe Stuck will lose to Bragg, McGinley, or Edwards?  I don’t see that one at all.

I have the Irish as 5-6 point favorites, but Roncalli can definitely pull the upset.

  9. Should be a great event on Wednesday.  Looking back at the lineups for Cathedral (Dual & Tournament), they have a tendency to move kids around more often.  The Royals have been extremely consistent, so I am comfortable predicting their lineup with a degree of accuracy.  With that said, in this dual, each team could/may adjust a few weights depending on who reports first to the table.

Projected lineup with State Ranking and Semi-State Ranking:

106: Matthew Rossman (NR, NR) vs Gavin Bragg (#21, #4)- Irish

113: William May (NR, NR) vs Evan Dickey (#2, #1)- Irish

120: Alex Plahitko (NR, NR) vs Aden Reyes (#11, #4)- Irish

126: Patrick McGinley (NR, NR) vs Josh Johnson (#12, #4)- Irish

    132: Drew Willis (#20, #6) vs Zeke Seltzer (#1, #1)- Irish

    138: Bryce Lowery (#3, #1) vs Luke Gonzalez (#12, #3)- Royals

    145: Zach Wilson (#8, #8) vs Dillon Graham (#9, #5)- Royals

152: Kody Glithero (#5, #1) vs Max McGinley (NR, NR)- Royals

160: Andrew Stuck (#19, #4) vs Gabe Bragg (NR, NR)- Royals

170: James Dozier (NR, NR) vs JJ Braun (#14, #2)- Irish

182: Sam Hansen (#10, #3) vs Jake Hosbrook (NR, NR)- Royals

    195: Sam Peeples (#16, #2) vs Grayson Harvey (#25, #6)- Royals

220: Justin Lewis (NR, #4) vs Jackson Weingart (NR, NR)- Royals

285: Luke Swartz (NR, NR) vs Hosia Smith (#12, NR)- Irish

I see the 14 matches being split, 7-7.  Bonus points are always the key to any close dual, and this will be no different.  I will be in attendance and pulling for Roncalli, but more than anything I want to see good sportsmanship and everyone going home healthy.

If that’s true then they likely will end up going independent next year.   Then after that they can decided if they want to stay indy or possibly start recruiting schools to form a new conference.  Unless they wanted to try and convince the MIC or some other conference to take them as a partial member to compete in most of the sports.

Both schools have released a statement saying they will keep options open and go independent.  Hopefully for football they will play a similar schedule to Cathedral.

Is there a post / listing anywhere that has the full team state final results for all classes? I was officiating Saturday, so I did not have a chance to attend. I've seen some scores mixed in with lots of commentary, but I did not see team state scores listed under dual results, unless I am mistaken.

    Thanks!

  12. I don't know the depth of the majority of teams, so my predictions are solely based on rankings.  Granted all the rankers are outstanding, so I have confidence in the data I can see.

Roncalli vs Hobart -  Roncalli has studs, depth, and pinners.

State ranked matchup: #9 Hansen vs #5 Simpson

Floyd Central vs Franklin - Very close match, but Floyd Central studs will get bonus and allow them to win.

East Central vs Mishawaka - Closest match in the 1st round. I went with Mishawaka because they have wrestled a tougher schedule YTD.

Columbus East vs TH South - Columbus East is a strong team and should get the W.

Roncalli vs Floyd Central - The depth of Roncalli will prevail, but the match could be a nail biter IF FC wins all the tight ones.

State ranked matchup: #3 Lowery vs #19 Knable (Lowery with the pin at EMD Holiday Classic) // #9 Hansen vs #8 Emerine

Columbus East vs Mishawaka - Columbus East has outstanding firepower between 160 - 285, and when you throw in 113 & 120 this team IS a handful.  Mishawaka has 8 wrestlers ranked in their Semi-State, so IF they can get a few upsets and stay off their backs there is hope for an upset.

Roncalli vs Columbus East - Roncalli will rack up points between Willis to Glithero.  I expect them to split the lower weights and get a couple of wins above 170 to win the 3A Title.

Always love the highly rated or talked about guys getting low seeds here got to go from passed years placement. It has happened to us all...... that have competed at it. Anyways if you got  to win the bracket you got to beat them all.... right?

True, BUT it never hurts to avoid a hammer along the way.

  16. 55 minutes ago, MattM said:

I’m pretty sure @decbell1 has most of that compiled already in order to do team rankings and determine team state seeds.  You may just reach out to him and then see what further you can add to it.

Good point, hopefully he will post his data on the topic.

  17. If someone would provide the list of teams, I will compile an Excel Spreadsheet detailing the rosters, rankings, records, H2H (teams/individuals), etc...  which will provide plenty of background so we can have a good conversation.
