  1. Anyone have any insight on whether or not Snyder will be back? And if not, who is going to be the next coach?

    Kral

Just watched this finals match, after having previously watching Kral's semi finals match. I'm not a rules expert or anything but if what Kral did in these two matches is not stalling, there needs to be a rule change. He did little more than push his opponet backwards with almost no attempt at actually scoring.
  3. Did anyone see that call the way the officials did? I wish there was instant replay so I could be certain, but it sure looked like Kral got a gift of a call.
  4. Did Crown Point end up winning? Could someone please post the results! Thanks.
  5. You said you have better things to do today than go to state today, like make your kids better for next year. Tell me, how exactly are you making your kids better for next year by posting on this message board all day?
  6. Have these two wrestled this year?
  7. I stand corrected. I think what stuck out to me was that he won state one year and didn't place the next.
  8. I think you are thinking of Bemenderfer from Penn. He placed third his junior year then didn't wrestle his senior year because he had a football scholarship to Northwestern. The only one I can think of that fits this criteria is Galka from Hobart. He won state as a freshman then quit wrestling for a year, then came back to wrestle again his junior or senior year. I don't remember if he ever won state again, but I think he did place high his senior year.
  9. Yes I am serious. What I said is an opinion, and you can't tell me I can't have an opinion on a message board, which is the whole point of this type of forum, to express your opinions. I said a few things: 1. "I don't know if it was a bad call..." I couldn't see if it was a legitimate call from where I was. I tried to go back and watch the replay on broadcastsport.net, and it's not available. I didn't even dispute if it was a bad call or not, and for the sake of argument, I'll agree with you and say it was. 2. I said I don't feel sorry for a wrestler who does nothing offensively for an entire match, and doesn't get a call to go his way at the buzzer. That's my opinion, I am free to have it. I prefer aggressive wrestling, and quite frankly didn't see much of it in this match. Please point me to a video replay to this match and show me where I am wrong, and that I missed numerous offensive moves by Knura. As I recall, in the last period, There where times that Lenzt stood in the center of the mat, and waited for Knura to even come to him. I recall thinking that Knura was making absolutely no effort to push the action, so much so that Lentz could stand there and not even risk a stalling call. I also think Lentz didn't wrestle very aggressively in the match, he only did enough to win, and it almost cost him the match. Had the call went against Lentz, I would not have felt sorry for him either, I thought had he wrestled more agressively, that he would have had a big lead and wouldn't have to worry about a ref's call. Once again, this is my opinion. You stated "Hasseman had a game plan for him and Knura followed it..." I don't know if this is true, but if the gameplan was to stall until time is almost out and take a last second shot, then this does not change my position any. This might even be a good strategy. But once again, if that is your strategy, then I don't feel sorry for you if you use it and a call doesn't go your way. Finally, you state "don't take anything away from Knura..." Aren't your comments taking something away from Lentz? Isn't that what anyone who questions a refs call does, take something away from the winner? So is it ok for you to dimininish Lentz's victory?
  10. I'm not sure if it was a bad call or not, I couldn't see from where I was at. But I've always felt that if you put yourself in a position to let the ref decide the match, you have no one to blame but yourself. Knura did almost nothing offensively this whole match, then with 5 seconds left he decides to take a shot off the whistle. Had he had any offense at all during this match, I might feel sorry for him.
  11. Abu-shehab also could very well have taken second place at semi-state, he was up by a point and gave up a reversal at the buzzer that kept him out of the championship match. Impressive late season run.
  12. The caps teams are ones that compete at the Ft. Wayne Semi-State. For a creative answer, a la Cliff Clavin on Jeopardy, I would say "What are teams who have never wrestled in my kitchen"!

    upsets

After watching this match, I have no doubt Brady has the ability to beat Porras again. And I'm sure Brady's family and coaches thought he had the capability to win the match, but I do not understand how this is not an upset. Porras is a defending champ, runner-up twice, has placed 4th and 8th in the nation at Fargo, and has a scholarship to wrestle at Purdue. Admittedly, I don't know much about Brady, (other than he has had two close matches with Porras). Please show me his credentials that would convince me that this is not an upset. By the way the definition of upset is "the defeat of a person or team that is considered more formidable". Going in to that match, the consensus had to be that Porras was more formidable than Brady.
