Why then is it not considered an embarrassment for the "superior" wrestler to not be able to pin the fish? Maybe he should work on getting better at pinning combinations.

There are signs all around Muncie promoting a basketball tournament that are causing me some frustration. Every year we talk on theis board how the IHSAA wont allow the best Indiana teams to travel out of the state, more than 300 miles, to wrestle in some of the best tournament in the country. The NFHS is hosting this 8 team basketball tournament at Ball State that has schools from all over the United States, and it includes 2 Indiana teams. It seems that basketball can alway get "waivers" to compete in tournament like this, but wrestling never can. I know it is sponsored by the NFHS, but it is frustrating that we can never send our best outside of Indiana to wrestle the best from other states in some of the bigger tournaments. I would have loved to see some of our top teams in the Beast of the East, or maybe our top EMD take on Brandon when they had their streak and an open invite to anyone who wanted to wrestle them. I will get step down from my soap box now.

I believe Y2 has one of the greatest pics in Indiana wrestling history, and it took place in the Carr/Harper match. Could you post the pic Y2?

Dolly v. Mauer and Carr v. Harper were two of the greatest high school matches I have ever witnessed. The intensity of not only the matches, but also the crowd was just simply AWESOME! Just when you thought one had a takedown, the other wrestler escaped without any points being scored. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Those were great moments in Indiana wrestling!
