  1. I, for one, would pay to see a cage match between DemoGuy and WingMan..
  2. When was the last time that all 1's beat all the 4's on Friday night.. Call me crazy but it's a much better possibility this year than any year I can remember in the past.

  4. Each person can have their own shaved ice, I'm that confident on this one..
  5. To compare the parity of the NFL in which throughout the history of the game there has been only 1 team to finish an undefeated season to the complete lack of parity in Indiana high school wrestling in which most weight classes have between one and three kids with a legitimate shot at a state title is quite ill-informed.
  6. Nice gesture ontherise219.. thanks for all you do, I know that you make my job a ton easier!
  7. This statement is almost laughable.. Downey was beaten by 7 or 8 by Isaiah Bradley who has been beaten by Jackson 3 or 4 times. There is also a Super 32 Champ and former State Champ named Ethan Raley in the weight class, and 2 more unbeatens with Justin Kieffer and Alex Gregory. If Downey wins a title I will buy the whole discussion board a shaved ice.
  8. How did the better kid not win the match? Garcia scored 4 takedowns in 2 minutes and 15 seconds against Simpson. If someone can take someone else down that many times, I would say he was 'better' and deserved to win the match..
  9. Jake Tucker, Drew Hughes, and Jose Champagne will be 'redshirting' the 8th grade and will not be freshmen next year.
  10. I, by no means, "want this maneuver to be illegal".. I've stated multiple times that I think the correct outcome came from this situation and I've noted how noble a gesture this is. I simply thought that one could not default a match in order to escape disqualification of an opponent. From how I read the rules, McCloskey or his coach would have had to given his decision to default the match prior to the expiration of recovery time, and not once recovery time had run out.. Is this accurate? And is this how it happened?
  11. So is it true that this gesture, though noble, should not have been allowed to take place if the referees in charge had known what they were doing?
  12. awesome gesture.. sounds like a great kid and family.. i just have one question.. i have heard before that, though noble, it is in fact against the rules per the nfhs' rulebook to restart a match and immediately stop it just to avoid the dq situation. can any referees confirm/deny/point me to the section in the rulebook.. i personally am glad that this situation played out like it did, but by the letter of the law, i believe that it could have come out much differently.
  13. I think Boston is the odds on favorite. I don't see him losing
  14. Jeremiah Harvey is a guy who I think could win a title with a great tournament at heavyweight. Also, Neal Molloy has been on the outskirts of title talk all year, but I think he could win 130 this weekend.
  15. I would be shocked to see all 5 place in the top 5 at state with Tyler Hupp facing 52-0 Travis Barroquillo of Prairie Heights on Friday night and Jake Stevenson facing 39-0 Willie Henson of Indianapolis North Central on Friday night. The other 3 should cruise to the State Semi-Finals however.
  16. Que stands no chance against Cody Phillips.. I would not be surprised to see him have a barnburner with Blake Denton Friday night.
  17. I wholeheartedly DISAGREE.. this one will be quite one-sided
  18. turning 22 years old the week after state, this will be my 16th state finals in a row..
  19. I own TAE's book for all state finals thru 2002, but the rest can be found using the IHSAA's Wrestling Archives at http://www.ihsaa.org/dnn/Sports/Boys/Wrestling/tabid/74/Default.aspx or http://www.ihsaa.org/b-wrestling_frame.htm
  20. Mater Dei qualified 6 in 2000, 8 in 2001, 10 in 2002, 10 in 2003, and 6 in 2004 I'll take that sno-cone bet...
  21. I've been at every state finals since 1996 and nobody has qualified all 14 in the time that I've been attending.. Mater Dei qualified 10 in both 2002 and 2003.
