Asinine takes aside, that isn't the definition of a dark horse, but way to represent yourself terribly.

Being Ranked top 3 multiple years negates you being a dark horse..Carson is a great young man and a stud wrestler.. Then Again you're right what a scrub of a state champion that just took a OSU Midlands 5th placer to ot.. must've only been the PB&J!

Jace Alexander from Wawasee Could be out to shock people this year Qualified at 106 freshman year and placed 6th at 120 sophomore year goes into the state series with 10+ more losses but does very well through the series 

Here is mine... Owen Sego. Nothing would make me more happy than to see this kid make a deep run or win it all. At 170, he is a complete wild card. He has the experience and a proud angel looking down on him. That could be all that he needs!!!

No he’s right.. that tourney looks awful this year 

One year there isn't 2 or 3 ranked kids at each weight and it's taken a crap?  This tourney is still tough, pretty much every year I have been told by a coach that they actually don't like coming because their kids end of coming home like they were in a street fight (not sure if this is a good thing 😂).  A lot of tough storied teams (Hobart, Penn, Portage) here, the only real change is Perry not being there this year 

This tournament has taken a crap from the looks of it... just my opinion

SAM GOIN has to be my number 1! Could very well win a title this season. Absolute hammer...

Currently In Northwest Crossroads Conference with Andrean, Munster, Lowell, Kankakee Valley, and Highland. 

Sir, with all due Respect. You need to do some research in the Youth section. There is a fabulous section every year on incoming Freshman that will make an IMPACT.  Yes the Region has a lot of talent. But your are overlooking 3 of the TOP 5!!
 
      Jones (BBurg) , Purdy (Castle) & Schoeff (Avon) will make a run at a Berth to go to State in their Weight classes ! BT19

Wondering about the status of New Castle this year... I know last year was a down year for numbers and they struggled. Usually a powerhouse in their area. Haven’t won the sectional in the last three years. Heard they have a full squad this year with Gary Black taking over. Anyone have a projected lineup for these guys this year? Or know who’s going to be rocking where? They could be dangerous. Especially with Black leading them. 

Got Franklin Central too. They’ve been making some noise of late.

Yeah no Hobart. I was PISSED OFF when I came into high school and they switched conferences. I couldnt tell you the conference they are in now cause it has changed something like 8 times now. Would be a GREAT addition though if Hobart was in there

I wrestled a guy from Laville twice...first time was 26-21, second time was 21-16. I was the 21 both times. Classic match of two strong guys with average technical ability...lots of re-rolls...

No doubt Marshall. I know that some wrestlers absolutely hate the bus ride to Fargo and hate staying in those dorms. I know of wrestlers that have skipped the trip because of it. Pay a lot for a trip that they don’t totally enjoy. 
Looks like we are getting good numbers at Super 32 with no formal trip. Kids are taking their coaches and / or parents, staying in decent hotels, and paying less (maybe).
I would like to see a poll. Would more people like to keep the Fargo trip like it is or have the camps here (to prepare) and get themselves there. Take who you want with you and stay where they want?

It may be apples to oranges.. but the ISWA sends two elementary teams to Heartland every year. When I first started that trip, the fees were $140 per wrestler. The parents provided there own transportation and lodging. Every year we finish around the top 5. I know that the fees for that trip have went up. With that said, the model works. 
 
I would like to point out some of the National duals that our top kids are doing also. Our elite kids are getting snatched up by Team Shutt, Minions, Scorpions, David Taylor, etc... these kids are going on these trips for way less then it takes to go on an Indiana national team and are getting great exposure.  Seems like our top dogs are willing to spend their money on these trips. Personally.. my son did. He loved his trips with the all-star teams. 
 
It may be time to rethink how we structure our national team trips. We are too good to be finishing where we have been.
