  12. The $ line on the only two nationally ranked IN teams as of this week with a single undefeated wrestler in their lineup was +1500. Fan School Sportsbook had the cover at -2500 for ZERO undefeated wrestlers from these two programs. Looks they were right. Most of the #TheCounty Dogs have only wrestled 3-4 Indiana kids total all season.
  13. Carnahan #4 Parker Reynolds IN 10-1 over #4 Hayden Hughes Ohio (2A St. Parish Graham) #4 Parker Reynolds IN 5-0 over #12 Evan Cruz Ironman #4 Parker Reynolds IN 5-0 over #1 Ashton Homan Ohio (3A Monroeville) #4 Parker Reynolds IN 12-0 over #8 Tyler Aters Illinois (3A Marmion)
  14. Indiana had a great showing at the National Middle School Duals in Toledo OH. This is one of the top 3 duals in the country each year. Below are the overall records for the Indiana MS wrestlers who participated in the Gold Pool starting at weights 70 and above. Indiana had 1 team in the Gold Pool (Midwest Legacy), and 5 other wrestlers in the Gold Pool for Team USA. Midwest Legacy finished 5th losing by 3 points in the final dual. Indiana had 2 wrestlers finish the dual undefeated: Parker Reynolds & Jensen Boyd. Gold Pool All Americans Team USA -Parker Reynolds Gold All American (128) 7-0 -Landon Hawkins Silver All American (120) 6-1 -Revin Dickman Silver All American (90) 6-1 -Kyle Harden Silver All American (HW) 6-1 Midwest Legacy -Jeffrey Huyvaert Silver All American (128) 6-1 -Clinton Shepherd Bronze All American (105) 5-2 -Alex Huddleston Bronze All American (70) 5-2 Other Gold Pool Records -Miguel Rojas (155) 4-3 -Case Bell (85) 4-3 -Layne Horne (90) 4-3 -Waylon Cressel (155) 4-3 -Braylon Reynolds (100) 3-4 -Traevon Duckling (75) 3-4 -Matthew Staples (95) 2-5 -Dominic Brown (112) 1-6 -Case Bridge (80) 1-6 -Evan Stanley (120) 3-1; 3 injury forfeits -Austin Reading (HW) 0-3; 4 injury forfeits Other Pool All Americans Silver Pool -Nate Rioux Silver All American (80) 7-1 Bronze Pool -0 All Americans Copper Pool -Jensen Boyd Gold All American (80) 7-0 -Tommy Gibbs Bronze All American (112) 5-2 -Asher Ratliff Bronze All American (136) 5-2 -Jett Goldsberry Bronze All American (155) 5-2
  15. IN well represented in Natl MS Rankings... For IHPO Huddleston #4 (70), Bell #8 (80), Dickman #2 (85) all too small, Rojas #4 (160) & Harden #4 (180) not registered. Harden will not be due to football. Stanley #4 110 at 109... Hawkins #9 120 & Reynolds #5 130 both registered at 116.
  16. There were some great matches and performances in the cadet division this weekend with several notable match ups, including glimpses of potential HS placers next year from 8th graders. 88 - Dickman (7th) over Rioux (7th) 12-0 in finals 100 - Hockaday (8th) over Jendreas (8th) 9-3 in finals 106 - Tishner (HS Placer 8th at 106) over Schaefer (8th) 7-2 in finals 113- Syra (8th) over DeMarco (HS placer 6th at 113) 4-2 in finals 120 - Reynolds (7th) 4 TF's, 2 victories of HS SS qualifiers (4 in bracket) to win bracket (tied Seltzer for most pts scored in tournament 75) 126 - Kresjan (SS qualifier) pin over Graham (HS Placer 4th at 120) in finals, 10-0 win over Johnson (2020 8th 106) 132- Thornton (8th) over Dinn (SS Q) bracket champ 138 - Rinehart (8th) over Searcy (SS qual, F/S champ) beat 2 SS Qual to win bracket 145 - Davis (8th) pinned way through bracket 160 - Emerine (State Qualifier) over Weems (8th) in finals 13-12 187 - Veazy (8th) over Henry (8th) 11-2, Beat SS Qual in bracket
  17. And you could argue Reynolds as a 7th grader, and Hockaday, Brewer, Henry, Forrestsr as 8th graders all could have placed this year. Not to mention the smaller 7th graders like Dickman, Haines or the younger 7th graders Rojas or Day in 2 years that are placers and eventual champs. It won’t be #TheCounty as much as it will be #TheBurg. Their expectations along with their coaches are state championships, not placing. It will be a fun next 5 years! The wave is coming for sure.
  18. I give credit where credit is due....mad props to Ryan Parrish for getting this pulled off and everyone who helped him. These are the type of positive announcements we need. I have been a critic of the ISWA, but they definitely pulled this off and worked countless hours to make this happen. Now everyone just bring lots of hand sanitizer and fist bumps.
  19. Gotta love those peeps with mult accounts on a website lol. Anyways. I was looking at how the wrestling community handled the last global pandemic, you know the one in 2009 for H1N1.? I can’t find any findings. Maybe you can enlighten us on how it was handled back then. And I’m in a plane for the 10th time in 12 weeks as we speak. Maybe I should just play the lottery when I get back home. Anyways, you have been enough entertainment during my flight. Enjoy the rest of your day.
  20. Considering 264M people more live in the USA, you are comparing apples to oranges. Also considering Italy’s population is 12% older than the USA, and the Covid-19 affects the elderly, again, can’t compare the two. The media is driving this circus. And it’s unfortunate. If we want to compare, we need to adjust for different cohorts and look at it retrospectively. And adjust for the variation. More importantly, let’s ban all Walmart’s. Considering the avg Walmart sees 4K customers a week and many many more over 10k, you are way more likely to encounter COVID-19 at Walmart than at a wrestling meet. But then again what do I know. Guess my Biotech background excludes me from knowledge. Considering everyone is an expert on the internet.
  21. This is what happens when an organization does not have a backup contingency plan. It was foreseeable 2 weeks ago that this could be a possibility. Or even if we learned from last year at Carmel for MS state with their gym, there should ALWAYS be a contingency plan in place prior to the actual event occurring. Now pushing it back will affect numerous national duals, as well as the heart of spring break for many.
  22. You mean we may have to actually hold our state tournament in an actual arena venue and not in school cafeterias??? Maybe some good will come from all of this non-sense! Eville Ford Center, FW Coliseum, state fairgrounds? All venues would be an upgrade. And don’t tell me they are not big enough. Make it something special for state. Hell Fri-Sun. All finals and placement matches on the final day.
  23. Unfortunately the media is responsible for the panic. Businesses and retirement accounts and people’s lives are being disrupted by this panic. As someone who is in the health care industry, we as a society and our media should have this same passion for encouraging those same people who are at risk of COVID-19 to go and get their flu shots every year. It’s those with compromised immune systems, the elderly and those with COPD that are most at risk. The main issue with an outbreak is the transmission from healthy individuals to those who are compromised. Instead of keeping a wrestler from going to state, how about we tell grandma and grandpa to stay at home. If the media had its way, every Walmart in the country should be closed to keep this virus from spreading.
  24. New Updated Rokfin Top 200 National Middle School Rankings are out by MatScoutWillie (former Flo ranker). Indiana continues to have 4 wrestlers represented: 8th graders Brady Ison (130 lbs) & Drew Mills (150 lbs) and 6th graders Parker Reynolds (95 lbs) & Revin Dickman (77 lbs). https://rokfin.com/MS1 Next round of updated rankings will come after the Tulsa Natl duals, Reno Worlds & USAW folkstyle Natls. Way to represent the state young men.
  25. Your right, without a qualifier like PA,OH,IL, everyone has a possible chance here in IN. So anything can happen. However, past success is the best predictor for future success. Some of these predicted champs have won 4,5,6 straight ISWA state championships. I believe some upsets will happen, but cream always rises, and those who have been tested in Tulsa, Super 32, VAC Gold brackets, USAW,....Indiana’s MS State is not a stage most of these talented wrestlers will be lacking in experience. I can personally attest this may be one of the most accomplished 6th grade classes IN has seen. I believe you will have 3 6th grade champs at a minimum. Dickman 75, Reynolds at 95, or if he can’t wrestle, Stanley has to be the favorite, and Harden at 110. You could also realistically see Hawkins at 85 and L. Haines (being held back) could win again at 80 if he was registered.
