Pretty sure it's Aiden (152) and Kelton (220) Farmer. Congrats to the Farmer family.

Spectater reacted to TripleB in Possibility of no fans at both semi state and state?
Hopefully the IHSAA does the right thing and moves the Mishawaka sectional then.
I'm over over-reaching health departments on power grabs. My county just went orange, but the Health dept says we have to stay at red level for 2 additional weeks, it's ludicrous. It's just a bunch of old bitties that have been reduced to finding bugs and warm food their whole lives that now feel like they have a since of purpose. Take a hike Dorothy.
Let counties, communities, and schools that support this type of nazism get hit where it counts - in their financial pants and once the pandemic is over let them continue to suffer as new trends and habits are formed.

The belief of 'cold weather' killing the virus must apply when ice is on the floor. With that I believe there are two options in order to have 50% attendance. (1) put the mats on ice instead of hardwood or (2) give everyone in attendance free snow cones all day.
I am a problem solver.

As long as they are wearing a mask, they should be safe from everything.

Spectater reacted to Shoey in Alec Freeman’s state finals run
I’d throw Kyrel’s Leavell in this discussion as well. Carmel forfeited him, but pins over Keaton Morton (Perry) and Reed Egli (EMD) were damn impressive for a freshman in two high stakes duals. He has to be in the discussion for sleeper champ at 113.

Spectater reacted to Coach Doug Welch in Practice protocals
I have seen and heard a lot of pessimism and doubt regarding wrestling having a season as COVID numbers are surging across the state. While it’s not guaranteed that we will be able to complete a season; we owe it to the kids to do the best we can to give them the opportunity to compete and have some form of a season. I wanted to share the following practices we are taking in an effort to compete this year.
The most important thing we can do with regards to mitigation is to keep athletes separated as much as possible. Practice should be set up in a way that keeps kids in small groups of no more than 3 or 4. Coaches wear masks at all times. Athletes wear masks always except when performing strenuous activities. Individual water bottles for each athlete. Athletes socially distance when learning technique/observing instructions.
I wanted to make you aware of protocols we are utilizing this year to make wrestling as safe as possible with regards to COVID-19. We have had a successful fall sports season that included contact sports and indoor sports. Consider football, offensive lineman and defensive lineman against each other for extended periods of time. Consider volleyball, an indoor sport, in which several athletes are in close contact for an extended period of time. Consider cross country, packs of runners breathing heavily in close contact for extended periods of time. We know that when positive individuals take part in these activities, spread is minimized due to cohorting (small groups), masks when possible, and good hygiene/sanitation.
Social Distancing:
· Athletes are spaced 6ft apart for all activities that don’t require contact
· Athletes are in small groups (2-4) for all activities that require contact
Miscellaneous:
· Coaches wear masks at all times
· Athletes wear masks at all times unless performing vigorous activities
· Individual water bottles for each athlete
Sanitation:
· Mopping mats after every practice
· Nightly Electrostatic Fogging of the wrestling room and locker room
Team Restrictions:
· 16 wrestlers per team only
· 4 other essential personnel only
· (20 total people from each team)
COVID-19 Protocols:
· All fans, coaches, and team personnel must wear a mask at all times
· No fans in the team/competition area
· Fans for each team should stay in their specified area and not go into the fan area of another school
· Wrestlers must wear a mask unless on the mat wrestling or warming up
· Maintain social distance (6ft) as much as possible
· No table set up for serving of food – individual coolers allowed
· No coach/team personnel hospitality room

Spectater reacted to Y2CJ41 in Doug Annakin(backtothemat)
Longtime poster Doug Annakin passed away Friday after battling brain cancer. I know he was very active on the site.
Thoughts out to his son Baxter and the rest of the family on their loss.

Spectater reacted to RaiderColfax in ‘19 champs vs ‘20
Dickens NOR slivka smoke either one. They are both great wrestlers. Dickens would control neutral game, slivka would control the top game. The kid was down by 5 to my buddy DJ at state and came back to win because of his brutal top game. It’s really a toss up. Dickens could win 5 and slivka could win 5 in 10 matches.

1. Hollendonner upsetting Noehre then upsetting Levitz to make the finals. Someone get him a scholarship already and iron out the few kinks in his neutral game that Dickens exploited.
2. Bettich getting up from an illegal slam that could have given CP the team title over Cathedral had he stayed down. The Western lady next to me blurted out “that kid is feisty” and “give Bettich the Mental Attitude Award.” I heard that award is decided bf finals start though. If so, that should change bc finals performances and conduct should be considered.
3. Previously undefeated Logan Boe doing a backflip after taking 3rd. 1st place isn’t everything.
4. Kervin publicly coughing up the secret for the best way to stall: Keep them on their back, and the ref won’t call a stale mate. 🤣
