  1. The Ford Center easily can have five mats they do it the very next day for Freshman/Sophomore qualifier. Time would not be an issue.
  2. I agree if you take Scott from Heritage Hills at 106 for granted you will find yourself in the showers early. Athletic kid with a motor that gave Ross all he could handle and more.
  3. I would think Sam Scott from Heritage Hills would start earning som respect. Beat # 19 Teusch, lost to # 14 Simone and just wrestle the match of the day at Evansville North Regional losing to # 6 Cole Ross in the finals, Ross got an escape at the buzzer to win 8-7.
  4. You are correct it is a long shot, but it is also a long shot to be an olympic gymnast, to be in the movies, to have a recording contract or to be President, etc. Are we not suppose to support our kids dreams? Shouldn't we give them every opportunity to pursue that dream? Specializing in wrestling is not killing the sport, it is really a dress rehearsal for life, if you want something bad enough than go get it and don't let others tell you otherwise. If a kid is not reaching their goals because they are losing to year around wrestlers than either change your goals or get better just like life.
  5. Disagree on this one, Boarman is on another level. He will be too technical and aggressive for Sutton. Boarman will at least major Sutton, no disrespect to Sutton quality kid but Boarman is just that good. Would not be surprised to see a tech, Boarman has a motor that Sutton has not had to deal with. Boarman wrestles a schedule that you would think would challenge him but he has dominated this entire season compared to Suttons schedule that does not prepare him for the grind.
  6. ISWA is not for wrestlebacks, the spring tourneys is just about mat time. None of the kids even wrestle their competitive weight. I still have yet to hear a logistical reason not to have wrestlebacks.
  7. How is Scott from Heritage Hills at 106 still out of the rankings? Defeated Teusch 6-3, lost to Simone I believe 7-5. Last year Semi state qualifier.
  8. The three reasoning above makes no sense. Comparing basketball or any sport to the other has no justification. No other sport has basketballbacks, but they also dont have injury time or blood time. No tourney would have to start during school hours, that makes no sense. Totally off base on 2nd through 8th is irrelevant. Believe me it means a lot to college recruiters. State qualifiers and so forth are recruited by their final placement. Few examples Austin Bethal 4X state qualifier no placement wrestled for Wabash, Luke Welch never won a title wrestle for Purdue.
  9. It would seem that there must be some justification for going against every state in the nation for not having wrestlebacks, I know I am one that would like to hear the reasoning. Making a business decision is based on a pro/con analysis and it would seem that the pros far out weigh the cons in favor of wrestlebacks. I am sure the IHSAA will have a detailed explanation. I also have heard when decisions are made that have an affect on our sport that they will be transparent in their decision making process in the future, lol.
  10. I know for certain Kentucky and New Jersey have wrestlebacks. Could it be possible that Indiana stands alone as the only state without wrestlebacks ?
  11. Team scores had Memorial 171.0, Boonville 168.5, Heritage Hills 163.5. Last match of the day finals at 285 had HH vs Memorial. Memorial wins in OT, if it goes HH way than take away 4 points from memorial add it two HH for a first place finish and you have Boonville second with 168.5, HH with 167.5, memorial with 167.0. That is as close as you can get, quality wrestling all the way around.
  12. I agree Heeke vs Tucker going to be a good one. 220 Keller (HH) vs Macray (Gibson Southern) death match ticket round they are 2-2 against each other.
  13. Obviously Coach Bell must have his boys making steady improvement through out the year because Rea (Heritage Hills) just gave Weeks (Boonville) a Beat down 14-0 and it really was not that close. Weeks never even came close to scoring a point. Rea vs York II could be interesting.
  14. Weeks (Boonville) was manhandled by Rea (Heritage Hills) 14-0 score, a pure beat down. Casebolt vs Sutton match up was an exciting finals, Casebolt showed the composure that comes from a lot of mat time, winning I believe his third sectional title. Fulks ( Boonville) came to wrestle winning over Hartz (Castle) for the title. Scott (Heritage Hills) dominated the field at 106 Wilis (Castle) is wrestling well looking to make a run for his final shot at Bankers life. Bell (Heritage Hills) vs Graber ( Washington) was a tight one in consolation finals with a lot of key scrambles, Bell coming out on top 6-5. Castle wins team title, while Memorial, Boonville and Heritage Hills separated by 8 points.
