Garcia - if every dad from #thecounty transfers their kids to the rival school in the same county, it pretty much nullifies #thecounty. Pimp Cascade, Danville, and even Avon all you want, but you left them for alleged greener pastures. I would have bet on the Schoefs and Riouxs. I hope it works out for you.

I can’t speak to these guys enough for the work they have put in to help put together what’s on pace to be the best season at Chatard in 10+ years.

If Cottey has a 12-1 lead and gets aggressive and gets caught and stuck everyone would be saying he shoulda just played it safe and not been so aggressive with that lead. Lol. 

The only 4x finalist as well from a school with such pedigree says a lot

At the end of the day Isaac Ruble is a great wrestler, will undoubtedly capture 1 if not 2 titles. Cottey scored big early and did what he needed to do to capture another state title. I’d venture to say that any wrestler in Cottey’s position would’ve wrestled the same. You’re under the lights with a 5-0 lead in the first. You’re gonna wrestle more defensive at that point, you’re gonna be cautious, you’re gonna hang out on the edge, you’re gonna take a stall call or 2. This is state, period. Cottey had proven himself, he’s got his letter signed, but he still had the hunger to win. Call it chippy, call it what you will, I’ll call it good smart wrestling and it brought him a 2nd state title. Not to mention a 2nd state title that he didn’t need to solidify himself as a great wrestler in IHSAA history 

I am glad to see the two of you hold a high school senior to a higher standard than yourselves!  To say the match was getting "chippy" would be fitting. The "chippyness" was certainly one sided. So to lean over and whisper a compliment and the end shows a lot more restraint than you and your hurt feelings. You had to create an account to call out a kid. Must be the courage of adult beverage consumption.

I believe it would be a great match, but I’m a fan of Viduya’ style. Matt’s heavy hands could be the difference though.

My issue is with the other dude (Greg Rakestraw). He fills in on some sports talk radio shows down here in Indy. Just don't enjoy listening to him. He just rambles. Clearly does not know a lot about wrestling. Plus.... he doesn't know the difference between Peanut Butter and Jelly and Ham sandwiches. Smh

I know I'll get pelted with empties from any poster that starts with "SW" and I respect Mr. Goebel (sic) immensely, but maybe it's time to put a third guy on the show? And might I recommend @ontherise219 for that position? Now hear me out....
 
How many times last night did he mention "I'm not familiar with that wrestler..." or "IndianaMat ranks him...". Well, the actual ranker does some media stuff for the actual sight that does the rankings oft quoted, and since he does the rankings pretty well it appears, he does seem to know a bit about most/all the wrestlers and not just the ones at the E'ville SS. Again, nothing personal, and as far as the actual call of the finals matches goes I think Mr. Goebel is great and knows his stuff and adds insight, but for a parings show I'd just like to hear a bit more insight/matchups etc and think OTR could provide that. Of course the hour and fifteen minute time frame might be tough but he wouldn't have @Y2CJ41 to throw him off topic. 
 
Like I said, unpopular opinion.. but outside of the ESS dudes there just didn't seem to be much insight or info put out there except "that should be a good quarter bracket".

Regardless of how this one turned out for you personally, just by allowing his memory live on you have “made it there for him.”  Keep using his story to inspire your future plans.  That will be a bigger impact on your life and greater tribute to him than any state placement would ever be.

Great post young fella. Sorry you didn't make it this year but it sounds like you have many other great things ahead of you with an attitude like that.
