  1. The Robert Emerick Harvest Classic will be this Saturday at Lake Central. Penn, Portage, Hobart, LC, and a couple tough Illinois teams will be there.
  2. From my understanding, he is done wrestling but still in school at IU. However, I do not know if it was a release or a medical release(still get to keep his scholarship).
  3. Unfortunately you can not find that match on YouTube, luckily my parents purchased all the DVD’s when I graduated.
  4. Lol well I’m sorry man, but it was a great match and I’m happy with the way it ended, I did a bit of scouting before and I think that helped me out a bit.
  5. All Snyder wants to bring up is how he’s half my losses, so essentially I have to give him one of my rings...it’s actually really annoying. Anyone looking for a new assistant coach?
  6. Speaking from the athlete standpoint, you want to remain competitive and give yourself the best opportunity to win. Use David Taylor as an example, he was able to go up a weight and just won a world title...not many people are like that. And to be completely honest, it’s part of the sport no matter where you go...it’s unhealthy and not good for growing kids, but it will happen wherever you go.
  7. Lol rat, if I was supporting a mullet I think I would no longer have the girlfriend...all I know is that the kids think my haircut is solid now, which is all that really matters right?
  8. Well...let’s be honest here, since you guys are twins, Zionsville should be disqualified because of how ugly you two are. May be biased but have to give the edge to the Bulldogs from Brownsburg...with yours truly at the top of the list.
  9. Gotta get some Brownsburg Bulldogs in there to make these accurate!
  10. Think we match up better with this next team. That Georgia team has won four straight titles and just won the Jazztown duals. Very excited to see how well our boys respond!
  11. I answered your question to the best of my ability, I stated our team had no knowledge of Greco and we turned out okay. 500 takedowns is quite a bit. We most likely won’t teach Greco, if a kid wants to go to a Greco camp okay, but I will recommend them going to a takedown camp or something else that, in my opinion, is better.
  12. Not only myself, but our team this year was extremely successful, and like I said we didn’t work any Greco. We worked maybe 10 minutes on how to counter throws. Most are very simple to stop.
  13. 100% so make sure to bring your sons Mr. Wyatt
  14. Appreciate knowing your stance on the topic Mr. Cavanaugh!
  15. Looking at a team aspect if we show throws we’ll have kids going out there trying to throw and end up getting pinned. To me, it doesn’t seem beneficial to try to learn a throw instead of perfecting a single leg. Perfecting your folkstyle technique will help you more at the college level than rolling with throws.
  16. I understand this, but a week to me seems too much, we just show a few quick counters and move on!
  17. Oh you right my bad, we were IHSWCA state champions, which is also a goal! Team titles don’t grow on trees, they’re pretty hard to come by. We’ll continue to work on folkstyle, which has worked well for our Brownsburg staff, but thanks for the concern Hector!
  18. Pretty pumped to have both of these studs showing technique tonight, seven state medals between these two is outstanding! Nathan and Blake are both great at showing technique and we are very lucky to have these guys tonight. Come out to the #BoneZone and get better, we continuously have 50-60 kids. There is always someone that is better than you in the room, come get ready for next year!
  19. Completely disagree, never once have I worked Greco into a week of practice, and I think I turned okay. Also to a point about the county sucking, the county champs were state runner-ups and never once have we worked Greco for even a practice. Lastly, if Greco is so important and being pushed by all of you, why are numbers so down at state?
  20. Yes, going up and down collegiate line-ups you’ll find guys that train freestyle and few that train Greco. After wrestling for 19 years I think I’ve earned the right to speak my opinion, Greco a lot of matches are ending very low scoring and not fun to watch. Having one or two big moves in your arsenal I believe benefits a wrestler. But give me a kid that trains freestyle over the kid that trains Greco.
  21. Never did Greco and this was never a concern of mine. To me, it doesn’t make a ton of sense. I don’t think it helps your wrestling much unless you’re going to train strictly Greco. Freestyle makes sense because usually it turns into a takedown battle, which helps all wrestlers!
  22. Do people still care about Greco, not trying to ruffle any feathers but very few colleges care about Greco. That’s why ISWA triple crowns are pointless, in my opinion.
  23. Remember that time Ty Mills stuck the number one kid in the nation? Make a trip to the #BoneZone tonight and he might just be able to teach YOU how to do it! Ty has great technique and will be attending Duke University next fall. Always have a jam, packed room and aren’t expecting anything else tonight! Come get plenty of live in tonight, who knows I might even come out of retirement for the night.?
