JD is one class act. Great kid from a great family. Too bad he grew up on the wrong side of the Interstate! I hope he accomplishes all he sets out to do this February.

I know it's not High School but now that Angel has taken over the new facility is pretty sweet and has tons of upside.

We have it pretty good, great support from our Admin. Brownsburg has a brand new room that is pretty impressive!

Our mats were really old and they could not be re-conditioned so my AD replaced them all. 2 full mats plus an extra section. The goal is to never pick these up. We left the old sections below to stop the mats from sticking to the floor.
My AD is super supportive and my principal use to be the head coach! 😀

This error had nothing to do with the IHSAA ... they have been busting it on your behalf and are working hard to make this a great experience for everyone. If you have to throw someone under the bus throw me. Mark Durham. The buck for this TW mistake has to land somewhere. They were built this morning while I was in transit from some Evansville events back to Indy ... I should have pulled over at the Exit 87 Country Mark gas station on I69 south and checked them before they went public. I didn't. As it turns out they were set-up correctly, but there is a little check-box at the bottom of the build screen that says, more or less, "use saved lines instead of default lines" ... well, it needs to be checked and wasn't. And you know the rest of the story. Again, I am sorry.
The "Show" was fantastic.

Amsimone reacted to Y2CJ41 in Article: 2019 State Finals by the Numbers
Overall
Rankings are always a heated debate amongst wrestling fans. Over the years we have always locked our rankings before sectional and let them ride throughout the state series. Every year we lose kids due to unforeseen circumstances and even the death draws at semi-state. However, they always prove to be quite accurate. This year we had the most ranked wrestlers in 175 or just under 78% in our final rankings. On top of that 206 of the wrestlers were in our state or semi-state rankings. Here is a breakdown by weight and highlight matches to watch on Friday night.

Y2 has been vocal about this issue and I appreciate that he has made an effort to get ppl on board ...He also makes it known he's aware of ppl loopholing the function..we as a whole have to make strides in getting information reported and help the sport we all love keep evolving..we owe it to the sport of wrestling and to the young men and women competing who not only entertain but inspire us as a wrestling community!

I love this idea! We do it at our home duals too and all the guys enjoy it. Its quite comical when one of our guys runs out to I knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift, but the kids enjoy it and that what it is all about!!

Amsimone reacted to Ed Pendoski in An Idea to Think About.
Here's a thought that hit my brain a couple years ago and I'd like to know what other's think.
When a kid transfers school there's almost always three sides of the equation. Parents say, "The IHSAA should let a family do what's best for the kid" and if the school a kid leaves decides to protest, they're quick to say "that move was for an athletic transfer which is not allowed". The school that receives the transfer says, "What am I supposed to do if a kid just showes up?"
My thought here isn't touching any of those statements. We've all heard enough on Indianamat about this.
Here's my thought that I'd like to know what others think......
What is going to happen to wrestling in the long run as a whole if the number of state placing transfers continues? Is wrestling going to become similar to gymnastics over time? How are the small school/weaker programs going to keep up numbers of participants and quality of participants? What about coaching at a smaller/weaker program? Wouldn't it be more attractive place to coach if a potential state qualifier was in the room?
Here is gymnastics program from last year: http://www.ihsaa.org/portals/0/Flip Book/2017-18/gym/index.html#?page=8
If we continue on the growth in number of transfers, what happens to the smaller/weaker schools? How long before the smaller/weaker schools start to drop the sport. Once that starts happening, I'm concerned it will happen with other schools quickly. Are the number of forfeits from 1a schools increasing or decreasing in the past 5 years? What happens when a school has 5 guys on a team, and no one to coach them?
I'm the Lorax. I speak for the trees.
Are we ruining the future of Indiana wrestling with the amount of transfers?....but everyone needs a thneed, right?
If my daughter has a child that want to wrestle (of course I mean 30 yrs from now, after she gets her MBA, starts her own business, and then is allowed to date for the first time), will Indiana wrestling be a sport with 40 schools and the same 4 teams compete for a title?
