  1. Is the premise of these rankings as a DUAL TEAM, TOURNAMENT TEAM, or both?
  2. If Yanni D beats Meridith, he beats Red too. That 1/2 has the champ. Sorry Red fans...
  3. Da Rat speaks truth. #DaRegion. #ECSS. #Morethan1County. Whatever# is anyway. I used a rotary phone and have recently upgraded to my flip-phone.
  4. I feel like we should change the title of this thread to Flo v. Track and why I hate ads....
  5. Happy to see the School of Mines gettin' some Indiana blood. Best of luck!
  6. Lookin' forward to EC semi-state. We might not be in da-region, but we have to come tru der. Not all da boys from CMA is da rich kids. Some are just ard workin' boys who bale da hay in d-summer and know how ta grind. I know 1 dat plans to head to da Bank via da hay fields and den through the steel region. 'Course we're hopin' to draw da Logansport regional 1st round, but who's not. Let's grind!!!
  7. I seem to recall this being posted after last season, but I cannot recall the following: What schools switched sectionals? Have any sectional/regional/semi-state venues changed? For example, I feel like Rochester is no longer in the Plymouth Sectional and I assume they will not host the "Rochester Regional" (Plymouth and Mishawaka Sectionals). Any info or location you can send me to find this? Thanks! Looking forward to the season getting rolling!!!
  8. Surprised Antknee did not end up taking over the Jimtown program. I know he put a lot of time and effort into those kids and the youth program. I appreciated his efforts in making the Jimtown RTC great. Excited for him to get the head job at Bremen- watch out for those Lions, Antknee will do a great job. Hope he starts an RTC @ Bremen this spring!
  9. My son played football his freshman year and then stopped to focus on wrestling. His decision did not involve the "injury issue" being described here, but I think the decision making process used is applicable. 1st point: coming into wrestling season a bit physically 'beaten up' (just wear and tear) made the start of wrestling tougher. 2nd point: our football team was always ramping up for the play-offs when my son was ready to get on the mat. In the end, point 2 won out. Our philosophy is bee 100% committed. So if the football team is making a deep run, you can't be wishing the season would end so you can start wrestling. If football were after wrestling season, I believe my son would play football and wrestle. If your son feels 100% committed during football, I'd say play football. If he finds himself wishing the season would end when the "football players" are wanting to win more than ever... don't play. We just had a kid break his thumb in wrestling practice yesterday... probably done for the season. Nothing to do with football...
  10. Boland is likely a 182 (lots of weight room time).
  11. For CMA I would not be surprised to see Manzona @132, Davis @ 138 and a new surprise package @ 145. Though at this point nothing is decided. Could see Aaron Brooke @ 132 and Bryant @ 145 with the new kid @152. Should be some exciting wrestle off's to see who gets to pick their spot.
  12. I feel like this is a good time to bring up Scholastic Duals, EC SS robbery, and a potential match between Bobo Brazil and Fabio. Maybe this can get the post locked sooner rather than later
  13. I think it benefits the fans if the compression shirt keeps certain body parts from popping out of the singlet.
  14. Glad to hear the Sloth is back on the mat. We've been missing him at RTC's.
  15. We came last year and it was a well run tournament! Got 4 good matches, limited travel time and done early in the day! I know a few folks are headed to Oh for the TOC. If you're not, you'd be nuts not to get up to South Bend for this!
  16. Cost? If you are not already a Red Cobra member.
  17. Pretty good room tonight! We are going to be rocking every Monday, so if you're lookin' to roll, be sure to get to Culver on Mondays!
  18. I hope so, we are headed up from Culver!
  19. No. This is a generality. There are plenty of parents who are great supporters of their kids, the sport and coaches.
  20. I DO NOT have the rule book in front of me, so I would appreciate any actual reference citing the rule. Situation: Bottom wrestler stands up, top wrestler must "attempt to return" or "must return" the opponent to the mat? I thought the rule was attempt to return.I feel like this gets called stalling frequently (and asked for by the bottom wrestler coach of course) even though the top wrestler is making a reasonable attempt to return. The bottom wrestler is just doing a good job of NOT getting returned. To me this is like calling the bottom wrestler for stalling for 'not escaping' once they got to their feet. Obviously this is a judgement call hinging on the word attempt. Thoughts?
  21. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRKfC8B9r-c goat escape= 1pt scapegoat definition. A person or group that is made to bear blame for others. According to the Old Testament, on the Day of Atonement, a priest would confess all the sins of the Israelites over the head of a goat and then drive it into the wilderness, symbolically bearing their sins away. scapegoat. This term, for one who is punished for the misdeeds of others, is the result of a mistranslation. The term was coined in 1530 by William Tyndale, who misread the Hebrew word 'azazel, the proper name of Canaanite demon, as 'ez ozel, literally the goat that departs. Also, is Busstogate's icon a scapegoat?
