You have to be in a special club. Last year a college coach was "mysteriously" left off the list for "more qualified" guys. My guess is it was revenge for divulging information to certain people.

Not much of a dry spell. Jesse Mendez just became Indiana's 12th triple crown winner today competing in schoolboy division at 105 pounds. Side note, Jesse wrestled another Indiana kid(Zeke Seltzer in the freestyle finals). Must be the 2 qualifiers that got him over the hump.

He didn't wrestle in the Big Ten, so he isn't even in the running.

Come on guys Howie just asked to leave them out of this and I am sure the Fair's and Lowerey's would rather not be mentioned. What ever the offenses were these families shouldn't be being mentioned. Keep it classy San Diego !

I don't have much knowledge on what is allowed and what isn't.  But he came up to one of my wrestlers and his family at state 2 years ago and asked if they'd be interested in transferring over to be able to wrestle for them.  I just assumed they were allowed to do that.

I have personally spent some time around his parents. They are nothing but a class act. Couple of the nicest people that you will ever meet. Not sure the situation, but I am sure that whatever they do will be the right decision for the kid. The kid has not even been wrestling that long. His accomplishments have been awesome. It seems to me that this may be a personal or health issue, and not a wrestling issue. My family would like to wish the kid and his family good luck (in whatever happens). Please don't turn this into something nasty.

I watched this young man at the Perry freestyle duals over the weekend. Every match he impressed me more and more. I've heard of him but have never watched him. I spoke with a couple parents and they said he is just a 7th grader. His final match I watched him tech fall Brayden Lowery in about 15 seconds.

I believe he was asked not to attend due to recruiting "Gold and Blue" team wrestlers.

This whole thing is sad. I think this is more of an issue of the Gorillas beating Blue and almost beating Gold last year. Brayden wanted to be on this team because he made alot of good friends. In fact we ask to be on it right after last year well before Brayden was a State champ. Plus Gold want him at 111. Brayden is ready to start moving onto 113 and does not want to cut that much anymore. Gorillas were going to let him be 113. Gear is great, price is good but we had already made our minds up well before this and now it looks like at least one of Indianas state champs will not be there. I don't see how that helps our State.

This event had alot of good kids last year at it from Indiana that were not blue or gold and each had there own great memories. Stop making this about the adults and let the kids do what they want to do wrestle, learn and compete.

I was told my team was not allowed. I was offered a "coaching" stint with the IHSWCA team, but declined.

Some of the reasons include not using the "approved" hotels, don't recognize it is an IHSWCA event(which it's not according to Skinner), and because I can't tell kids no that want to be on the team and i need to force them to be with the other teams.
I'm not taking my ball and going home, the Gorillas got kicked out and told to stay home.

They got kicked out for offering the same exact product for cheaper and provided a better experience. I'm sorry for doing that and will try to make the kids' experience less fun and enjoyable in the future.
For the record I don't recruit kids going on the Gold team, the kids come up to ME and tell me they would rather be on my team. Most of them are ones I picked up when they were not selected beforehand. I picked up Brayton Lee when he was a semi-state qualifier, Brayden Curtis when he was a mere 7th place finisher, etc. I also work backroom deals such as a group of kids came to me last year saying they'd wrestle if I let their red haired friend on the team...so I did.

V and M's Dad got a reaction from IU89 in Class Wrestling - Participation
I have a question, what actually determines a small school. I know it is enrollment in other sports. Yet Mater Dei wrestles in the 3A duals grouping. They are obviously really good and have a great program and have had for years and years. Yorktown also has a rich history and as we saw this weekend a great program. How would they be classed?

Agreed, the kid is extremely classy.  I got a chance to talk to him a little this weekend and was very impressed with how humble he was and his performance in the finals was nothing short of amazing.  Warren is no joke and he was totally outmatched.
Maybe i missed it or it was deleted but where was the dogging and bs that was said about him?

Give me 14 Noah Warren's and you take 14 guys with the last name Lee and I will take my chances any day. Not taking anything away from Joe one heck of a performance but Noah has tremendous upside and is a even better young man.
