RaiderColfax got a reaction from DLuther in I am tired of the hypocrisy
Few years back the Moran brothers lost a year of eligibility when transferring to Portage from CP. I certainly do not know the entire story of what happened, I was coaching during that time at Portage, and I was more upset that Jonathan lost his senior year because of the block.
I don’t know the story behind Penn and C. Carroll, but my view is if they want to move to another district, school or what have you let them. I don’t care what their reasoning is, a state title isn’t worth a kids future in my eyes. Why block a kid from success just to have your head get bigger. It could possibly hurt kids in the long run for scholarships and such just because you’re upset they didn’t want to wrestle for you. Just my opinion, don’t try to pick it apart because you won’t change my mind.

Except Seltzer got it done in the championship game (I say that as a Notre Dame fan).

RaiderColfax got a reaction from D Summar in Article: Who do you want in your corner at state? 2021 Version
I’m not saying choose me, but I did coach Jason Tsirtsis to a VA beach high school freshman national championship. 1-0 in national finals. 💁🏻♂️🤣

RaiderColfax got a reaction from formercollegekid in All state? State finalist... what do you call'em
Portage hangs a picture in the hallway by the concessions and gym of state placers and all state for all sports. In the wrestling room we have banners of the state champs and a state placers board as do most schools I’m sure

RaiderColfax reacted to Trinedad in Pound for Pound Rankings
I gotta believe silas Alred would be the top pound for pound in the state. Pinned the entire season, and 94% for his career.

RaiderColfax got a reaction from FCFIGHTER170 in Kris Rumph
It’s insane to watch him with my own eyes to be developed by Eric Keith into just a stud. Literally came in the room and Keith saw something in him and said he was going to be a champ. Sophomore year goes out against red in the semis and battles for a bit before getting pinned, goes up against black who is another seasoned wrestler and finishes second and senior year the kid was just a monster blowing through people with his blast double. What’s funny was in high school he didn’t understand top and bottom. Shoot he didn’t even know how to properly ride someone his senior year. But he is just soooo explosive it didn’t matter. I love watching the kid wrestle and work hard.

RaiderColfax reacted to FCFIGHTER170 in Kris Rumph
And he's well ahead of the learning curve.. ..his accelerated learning ability means means a year of development is equivalent to 3 years to anybody else.. plus he's not even begun to reach his prime and the type that could train at the otc and be contending for a spot on our national team.. that article written about him made me believe that as crazy as it sounds he just now started believing in himself to the highest degree.. He's so talented that he didn't realize how capable he really is! Its came so natural to him that he didn't fully understand the magnitude of what he's accomplished in no time.. And now it seems he's fully invested and clicking on all cylinders competing at a high level..Wartburg has a tough schedule and their continuous success speaks to that..Put him in Purdue's room and get outta the way.. he's an enigma and with this type of talent there's no limit to what he can accomplish.

Ahhh talking about one of my favorite wrestlers to ever watch develops into an absolute stud! I think Kris could place pretty high, give him a coach that will work on his little mistakes and he could be fighting for a natty. The kid has all the ability in the world to be a champ

RaiderColfax got a reaction from Silence Dogood in State tournament class statistics to not necessarily incite class wrestling discussion
It also lets those small school kids get more matches in. I get the level of competition for some of these schools is greatly lowered than those of the bigger schools. But it’s high school, I’m all for giving every opportunity to kids to go further in wrestling and education.

RaiderColfax reacted to Y2CJ41 in State tournament class statistics to not necessarily incite class wrestling discussion
Kids having success earlier will equate to them getting more looks from colleges. If you are a one-time placer, even a champ, as a senior your opportunities are limited because most schools(D1, D2, and even NAIA) are already looking at current juniors. It is crucial for a kid to have success(meaning state qualifier or medal) earlier especially when competing against classed states like Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois.

RaiderColfax got a reaction from Wrestling Scholar in Better than Indiana
Portage wrestled at DCC in 2015-16 winning the dual 41-22 if I remember right.
