    Mason Parris easily

Red had a few close matches. Lee had one loss. Parris dominated everyone he wrestled. P4P goes to parris

And wrestlers have the highest percentage of first generation college students of any sport.

After 12 years of being involved in wrestling in the state of Indiana, the Franklin family is saying thanks for the memories.  Two boys and over 215 career IHSAA (between them) victories later we are bowing out and thanking the sport for all it has taught us.  Jack made it to Banker's this year which was a special moment for all of us.  For those of you that remember Jack's older brother, Andy (3x NHC Champ - 2008, 2009 & 2010), he is in his second year of law school at IU (Bloomington) and in the top 20% of his class.  Jack is headed to Ball State this Fall.  As for me, I hope the aging process slows to a normal pace as it feels I've aged 25 years during the times I lived and died with my sons these past 12 years.  Homestead HS, where Jack and Andy attended, is in great hands with Coaches Devaux, Stockman and Oberlin.  Viva Indiana wrestling!

Well it seems the average age must be on the rise. Since the rise of the "8th grade redshirt" trend, ages have to be trending higher. My son is a frosh in college and a lot of the kids he wrestled back in the day in youth wrestling aren't even seniors, but juniors!

I like Hudkins in how he took complete control of the 126 weight class, which was loaded with stud after stud.

I would venture to say that most of the "WE" out there wouldn't have followed up the next day by spending 12+ hrs at a youth tournament coaching kids and volunteering their time to help out the youth of tomorrow either like he did.  Kid is a class act and a nice person to talk to no matter if he knows you or not.  The last thing that most of the readers need to keep in mind is that he is still a KID, let him act like it if he choses.

If he did things they way WE all did them he wouldst be a 4x undefeated champ.

I clearly can't dab....im not cam newton nor a 16 year old kid...lol...but if its what my kid wants to do to have fun and keep calm consider it done!

Go watch his loss to Brandon James at Flo Nationals...takes his loss gracefully, no tears, no complaining even congratulates Brandon on the victory before the hand raise...people pick and choose what they want to complain about history has shown us that chad red is one of the best and will remain a staple of what a champion is.

i know people will chastise it's inevitable but that swag comes from being the best look at guys like Mohammad Ali or even Terry Brands from terry that guy could use a lesson in humility but they were the best at what they did. It just feels like it's something that people that were rooting against him are pulling straws for to take away from his moment.

How many people were booing Chad before the finals when he was announced? First he's a high schooler so there is no reason to do that. Also, he was going for an undefeated career and a 4 time champ, what is there to boo him for. 99% of people on the forum don't like him and it's all based off of him dancing (showboating as some will say), post match interviews, and/or his dad. So people don't know Chad at all but will be so quick to judge and make up any reason possible to look down on him. Don't understand how so many people are so quick to "hate" on him.

How does he not respect the sport? I'm pretty sure he loves the sport and is more grateful for the sport than most.

Agree completely with SIAC. Said all weekend Nick had trouble turning guys, so he cut and took them down 10 times. Chad definitely better on mat. Surprised by choosing down in 3rd, seems with his success getting to legs they would have went neutral. something I'm sure he'll be working on over the summer, I could see him going over the match in his head there on the podium. but yes lets talk about the wrestling I don't think anyone on here would want someone talking about their child the way some on here have about not just this match but many others over the years. sure we all disagree on how someone should handle any given situation but saying it out loud, sometimes we should bite our lip and keep it to ourselves.

Congrats to CJ watched him grow up and been a pleasure watching him claim his place in Indiana Wrestling History!! Look forward to watching Nick go after his own piece of history in the coming years. Indiana wrestling is in good place and looks to stay that way for awhile.

Don't mind the showboating or extra celebration. If I walked onto the mat with a majority of the crowd openly rooting against me, it's gonna fire me up too. Red hasn't changed from day 1 he came onto the scene. So we know it walks the walk and talks the talk. As far Red Sr.... Many of those guys standing on the podium cut their teeth with Coach Red at Red Cobra. We all witnessed a great match tonight. Time to move on. Congrats to all that wrestled under the lights.
