So having a wrestling team with promise is your primary concern when choosing a residence?

That community is, I grew up in Crown Point but went to Merrillville.  Crown Point is booming and they invest a lot into their community with their parks, youth sports complexes, their schools, even their YMCA is top tier.  If raising a family and trying to choose a community that invest into its youth, I would choose Crown Point.

So Fort Wayne doesn’t have anything to build off of? Fort Wayne and the surrounding area are some of the most livable places in the country. Great schools with great communities.  List of small towns in our semi-state more than any other.  The wrestling is getting better with The Fort/ Indiana Tech and many smaller clubs raising their level.  Why don’t want you over here.  I remember when the shoe was on the other foot and you would beg the gods to draw Merrillville Semi-State. This stuff goes in cycles and it may just be our turn soon.

I wasn’t saying it as you want to interpret, you guys are the ones that want to try and diminish Crown Point.  Congratulations to Fort Wayne on their recent success, I’m just saying what is going on at Crown Point within their city with its growth is something to see.  Like I said, I moved out of Crown Point 18 years ago and it’s changed significantly.  We have a boom in Northwest Indiana that we can’t keep up with, everyone is moving here from Illinois.  While Crown Point was a small city, it’s not going to be any longer with all the open fields turning into businesses and subdivisions.

That's what's weird, is I don't think I've ever seen them (to a man) push the pace and be the one dictating how the match would play out.  Win or lose, they were aggressive for the full 6 minutes in every match I'd watched this year.

Either way they will be back and will be better next year from their experience this weekend.  It’s a learning lesson for them, I am still a fan and it’s been fun watching these kids grow up.

I genuinely thought based on how they had wrestled the entire year up to this point that when they qualified 12 through Semi-State with the number of champions they had that the state title was sewn up and they were on track to set an unbreakable record for team points.  This state finals does not seem at all like the CP I'd seen all year.

I thought the same, but I do think that they all learned a big lesson of that bullseye on their back was real and nobody was going to just give it to them.  I do believe they will come back stronger next year with their eyes wide open, wrestling to score and not wrestling the clock.

I think they have asked the school if he can “transfer” to Brownsburg.  For academic and family reasons of course.

Crown Point might of crapped the bed, but I would still rather go to school and live there than Seymour or Fort Wayne.  At least they have something to build off for next year, as they are this years team dual state champions and won it the past two years.

It’s not necessarily a “community thing” so-much-so as it is a CLUB thing. Crown Point just happens to be the lucky benefactors of these RWA kids assimilating under one school roof.

Same could be said when Catherdral was pulling a ton of Contender kids

Brownsburg a lot of Red Cobra , and the list goes on…

You have to have a good community in place for a club to link to,  look at your own examples you listed.  RWA isn’t the only place these kids wrestle for, Crown Point has Bulldog Premier in house, where most these kids start at.  Then the cross club training begins, iron sharpens iron.

And CP is the only town in Indiana doing the exact same things?  Don’t be so full of yourself. It’s a small town of 35k people, and it’s nothing special. The only difference between them and the rest of the state is their recruiting. They used their recent 4-timer to recruit and are still snowballing from his pull. When the IHSAA finally decides to investigate them, they will at least be stripped of all tournament and dual wins over the past 5 years.

Please tell me you’re not crying over parents moving into communities that gives their kids the best opportunities and is also one of the states top schools for education.  I moved from Crown Point 18 years ago and I track the construction industry for the Region and no city has as much growth in housing and businesses as Crown Point with no slow down insight.  I can also guarantee you those same coaches coached those same wrestlers in their youth and It’s more of a family, being that they were all raised together.  I find it hilarious when people like you scream recruiting and the community itself recruits in its rapid development. How can the IHSAA punish them for the constant change in their community that brings people there?  Don’t forget to put your red nose on today so you can hide behind it like you are here.  Have a Nice Day!!!

CP has definitely recruited a fine team from far and wide, but at the expense of all the hometowns where those kids came from.

Crown Point just built a new middle school, additions to all the other schools, new sports complex at the high school, thousands of houses being built, new hospital, building more stores and restaurants it is the fast growing city in the state.  They’re recruiting so much that we don’t have enough Construction contractors to keep up with them.  It’s unbelievable that people are moving to that great community and giving there kids a great opportunity to live there.

Still not helping.  No thanks for that.  The plan offered through IHSAATV has all four and state.  I seem to think you know this and are just rubbing your Flo sub in our faces.

No I’m not, but you can listen to East Chicago on region sports

This is BS.  We paid for a service they are not providing. Mat one is still not working.  Yes, watching finals across the mats is crap.  Who do we contact to complain or get a partial refund?

Mat 1 is working, but it’s a block away from the mat
