  1. The D1 schools that fielded a team? Or the D1 schools that participated in the NCAA tournament? I ask because in the early years travel was an issue, so not a lot of teams went to the tourney. There were other years where it was an open event. And then there were the qualifier years. I have assembled a number of data sets that I use for putting content on the intermat forum. One of them is my best estimate of all teams by year. DM me with specifics of what you are looking for.
  2. I believe he does. He red-shirted in 2019. He was a red-shirt freshman in 2020. 2021 was the free year. So 2022 would be year 2 of his eligibility. And this year would be year 3.
  3. Kerkvliet beat Cassioppi 8-5 at the All Star Challenge this year.
  4. Parris looked STRONG. Kerkvliet got to his legs a couple times but didn't get close to finishing a TD. And when Kerkvliet gassed and took a lazy shot late in the third, Parris had no problem blocking him and going around. Made it look simple, really.
  5. The college season is emulating international wrestling more and more. Maybe this is an inevitable outcome of the RTC system being based on university campuses.
  6. Yep. While I did not see the match, I do not feel like a true freshman taking a 1 point lose to a ranked wrestler is any great cause for concern. Sanderson's record survives another year.
  7. Mendez made his debut this week in all four ranking services. InterMat and WIN Magazine have him at #11, while Flo and Wrestlestat have him at #5.
  8. For me it is the combination of 1) being a freshman, and 2) being a Buckeye. Neither of those are known for getting off bottom. While his freestyle results against top guys are impressive, until I see how he gets off bottom, I will have my doubts about any true freshman. BTW, RBY credits none other than Nick Lee for schooling him from top position when he first arrived at PSU. I think his quote was, "Dude just hammered me." Hopefully Mendez is getting that kind of intro to college folkstyle in the anOSU room.
  9. Here is the history of non-D1 participants' placement at the D1 tourney: Bolded and underlined are wrestlers who were also chosen most outstanding wrestler.
  10. I was here originally before wandering over to TheMat. Good to be back.
  11. @nhs67 curious why you think Steveson is coming back. Is it a gut call? A hope? A feeling? Based on reading tea leaves/between the lines? Or something else?
  12. I changed my name there, not here. I was on this message board first. I challenged my brother in law to figure out which username was mine and he got it on the first try. So when I found out about themat I decided to use a different username. He guessed that one right away too. For completeness, both names are accurate. When I came on this board I was brand spanking new to the sport.
  13. Greco? Is that like gyros, saganaki, and stuff?
  14. Here is hoping you get over 256 pages. (I was Wrestleknownothing over there).
  15. A little late on this one, but I keep some stats on NCAA wrestling and I just updated my list of all-time leading individual scorers at the NCAA tourney. Among Indiana greats, Nick Lee tops the list ranked 74th with 74 points (go figure). Next is Andrew Howe ranked 92nd with 71 points, and finally Angel Escobedo ranks 167th with 63.5 points. All of these ranks/totals are using the current scoring rules. Though I do not think that impacts any of their totals.
  16. There is B1G and then there is PSU. Half of that 60% goes to one B1G school.
