This one more age specific for you?
That link doesn't tell me anything about what the best weight classes for high school aged kids are. Your link has no data on weight distributions of high school aged kids.
You have the weights & measurements correct? That link should give you the determination from one of the links & BMI charts you can look up if you want super specific. I was stating the national trend seems to suggest kids are getting heavier in general, as well as taller, & just bigger in general. I've had more youth football players need bigger equipment more than ever before from the high school & middle school teams in a personal experience, but you can definitely refute that as a bias in statistics.
So tell me how you know specifically the NFHS powers are interpreting that data.
They are looking at alpha weights, body fat percentages and forfeits throughout the country.
Sure, do you know for sure if they're using a bell curve or do they have outliers? Anything that may skew the results not thought?
Are you on their board and in their meetings?
Possibly
Very politician like answer but I'll let that be.
Why aren't they taking the data from other sports and not trying to factor those in to increase multi sport participants?
Probably due to no other sport having that kind of data. That's just a guess though.
Fair enough
Why do we have to have a national determination instead of state specific?
Each state can determine what weight classes or even what NFHS rules to follow. Most abide, some do not. Michigan for example had different weight classes since the previous switch. Feel free to inquire with the IHSAA on why they follow 99% of the NFHS rules.
This is what I'm truly hinting at in all of this.
Just to have theoretical "national champions"?
The NFHS doesn't sponsor any events.
Yes, also falls in line with the above question and response.
Why not just let the officiating rules be national and let specifics such as weight classes, singlets, and etc be entirely state specific instead of choosing their limited options?
Each state can modify the NFHS suggested rules to their liking. Indiana in the past has added clarifications to different rules. Some state have different weight classes, some states interpret rules a little differently.
So why have the NFHS? Just to be a basis?
