This has gotten a bit ridiculous. The brackets released Saturday night were credible and what was posted was an exact interpretation of the formula that was mistakenly released. Was anyone upset we got to see the brackets earlier than usual? Probably not. Some official jumped the gun and the IHSAA likely changed the formula to maintain the integrity of the tournament.

Also after watching Cummings wrestle yesterday, it's gonna take a monumental effort to knock this kid out. He was the most dominant wrestler outside of Tommy Forte if you asked me at the Mville SS.

I attended the semistate yesterday I got there at the beginning of the ticket round. It was a struggle to see the mats directly below as I was sitting in the bleachers opposite the scorers table. That can certainly be frustrating, i had to run down and fanagle a spot standing up to see Sopko/Schurg and Rodriguez/Lukaszka which I really wanted to see. After the ticket round it's like a different venue because they can pull out the bleachers. All that being said I thought it was a decent experience and I have no complaints about the announcer, I mean sure he could've researched a bit and been able to read the names a bit better but I guess the announcer is an afterthought for me.
 
To me one great thing about a cramped venue is when the crown gets rocking. The Covaciu/Lawrence match as well as Black/Reitz had that place rocking and that was pretty cool. Sure it would be nice if the place had double the seats but it's got some charm if you've seen your share of SS events there.

I just firmly believe we have a top notch tournament series as it is.
 
Class the Team portion and leave individual tourney alone.
 
Good point Decebell, but with all due respect, I still don't like the notion of classing individual portion. Just my opinion. I will shut up now and not continue to high jack your thread and hard work! Lol

Not a ton of talk on here about this Regional. This is my local sectional being a Jasper County resident and all. Here's my take
 
106: I see a rematch of the Crown Point Sectional here as Colton Cummings(34-1) of Lowell will likely face Valparaiso grappler Ian Dembowski(37-5) with Cummings the decisive favorite.
 
WATCH OUT wrestler(s): Alex Bautista(24-4) sports an impressive #10 state and #3 semistate ranking. Unfortunately for Alex and the rest of the fans we won't get to see a rematch of the sectional semis he had with Dembowski who is a couple slots behind him in both rankings. That is of course unless be can pull off a big upset. Should be interesting. I like David Taylor(23-8) of Michigan City to round out the fourth to make it out.

you obviously haven't been following the results this year or you would know that at 120 Vasquez has beaten Nance twice. Only 2 Wayne guys advancing? When has that ever happened? Prepare to be disappointed.

Speaking on small school conferences, I am sad to see the Midwest conference go. I live in the back yard of the conference with West Central about 20 mins away although I am a Kankakee Valley grad. I thought these 8 teams would stick together, it doesn't have the enrollment disparity that the Northern State conference has. Feel especially bad for South Newton...they got hosed.

Always great to have a rivalry like this with such a wide open weight class.
