14u Folkstyle national runner up 2 weeks ago, MS State champ this weekend, and he is only 12. Great competitor and a great kid. 

My kid, Brendan Bentz, won 138 and his teammate Garrett Deuser that won 175. They just don't wrestle a ton in the spring/summer b/c they are both also really good baseball players and play travel ball March - August.
 
They gathered some hardware this winter but not in notable USA Events
 
Brendan - won Bluegrass Nattys, won Music City Brawl Nattys, 2nd at Christmas Sparty individual and was undefeated in team duals, 1-2 at IHPO as an 8th grader, 3-4 at MS duals in Toledo. 
 
Garrett - won Bluegrass, won Sparty, undefeated in Sparty duals, and was runner up at Music City, he also went 6-1 at MS duals in Toledo.

The 144 (Jared Guevara) from Whiteland was very impressive. He’s gonna be a good one. Only a 7th grader.

Essentially the entire list above is 106 and under. Here are a some middle-weight guys who are really good. Maybe top 25 maybe not.  Kids like Ashton Goney, Aiden Flowers, Jared Guevara, Noah Fitzgerald

Just a kid that has been focused on less competition, growing at all costs, and having fun on the mat scoring points. Anyone that knows him knows he cant be slept on. Excited to see his continued progress and his HS debut in 2023/24. 
 
He has a couple big brothers that he keep him honest and he is dialing in. He has a no fear, send it style that is fun to watch.
 
I may be "biased" of course. But looking forward to watching him compete next year!

This will definitely make the team race more interesting.  Indian Creek will be bringing over some studs that will shake things up.  Not sure about Franklin as they are coming out of one of the toughest (if not the toughest) regionals in the state.  Rest assured,Tonte will have his crew ready.  Salem brings a couple ssq over as well.  With these additions the stage is set for some ssq's from last year that may not make it out of sectional.

After a quick run through of the brackets it looks like Mooresville Regional advanced 43 of 56 wrestlers to ticket round.  Only 5 of the Semi State qualifiers from the mooresville regional were eliminated by "non state qualifiers"

04-05 whiteland squad did lose in the regular season by 1 to the runner up Avon team.   Had a kid not make weight at team regional and whiteland had to shuffle their line up and Avon widened the gap at team regional.
 
That 04-05 Avon team was GREAT top to bottom.  The whiteland team that year was solid and had 4 Fargo all Americans in the line up. 
 
B south had some great teams in the early 2000s also with several state champs.
