  1. Wednesday 3/15 we will have Reece Lefever as our guest clinician. Reece is an incredibly accomplished wrestler and coach having earned 3 All-American Honors for Wabash and coached 3 national champions as well as 7 All-Americans. This is a great opportunity with Coach Lefever showing technique and the chance to grind it out with wrestlers from around the state! Practice starts at 6. Enter through door 14. Be there. Work hard. Get better.
  2. Time: 6-7:30 Enter through Door 14 This Wednesday our guest clinician will be Warren's own Coach Tonte. While some may doubt his peculiar sense of fashion (including myself), the man produces championships. 4x State Champ Coach Jim Tonte will be running a hard drill and live practice Wednesday night to get our wrestlers ready for Folkstyle State. Be there. Work hard. Get better.
  3. Congratulations to Coach Quiroga and the rest of the Uindy coaching staff as they won their super regional this past weekend advancing four wrestlers to nationals! Be sure to be at Warren tomorrow! Work hard. Improve.
  4. Coach Quiroga will be the guest clinician at Warren Central High School this Wednesday at 6. Coach Quiroga was a multiple time state placer, state champion, Fargo freestyle champ, High School Nationals champ, multiple time DI national qualifier, and DI All-American for Purdue. He is currently coaching for nationally ranked Uindy. Enter through door 14. Time is 6-7:45. Be there. Work hard. Improve.
  5. RTCs are cancelled for the summer but we will be having open room Tuesdays at 6pm. Enter through door 14.
  6. Warren Central is looking for wrestlers for Disney Duals. At this time any weights. Please contact Coach Tonte for more info. Jim Tonte cell: 317-371-2654 email: jtonte@warren.k12.in.us
  7. Tonight at 6. Enter through door 14. Work hard and get better! Tonight's guest clinician will be coach Alex Joseph. Coach Joseph was a former DI wrestler for the University of Northern Colorado. As a coach, Coach Joseph has spent six years studying, learning, and training with several of the greatest wrestlers and coaches in the world at the United States Olympic Training Center. Coach Joseph recently moved here from Oklahoma where he was head assistant at the powerhouse program Stillwater High School. While there he personally trained multiple state and national champions. Most notably, he had the unbelievably rare opportunity to spend time learning coaching and wrestling strategy and technique from John Smith at the Cowboy Wrestling Club. We are proud to bring Coach Joseph in. Be there and get ready for freestyle state. This week and next week are going to be real treats (next week we will have a local east side hero/former world team member).
  8. Starts at 6. Enter through door 14. Be there. Get better. Our guest clinician will be Thomas Pompei, head coach at Indiana Tech. During the 2015-16 season Indiana Tech produced three Academic All-Americans, placed second at the National Duals, first at the Midwest Regional, and third at the NAIA National Championship (with four All-Americans including Indiana Tech's first ever National Champ). Coach Pompei was also awarded the 2016 NAIA Midwest Regional Coach of the Year. Coach Pompei will be bringing members of his coaching staff as well. Be sure to be there!
  9. There will also be a brief rules clinic over freestyle and greco.
  10. RTC tonight at 6. Enter through door 14. Intense drill followed by live situations. Be there. Get better.
  11. Come at 6 and grind it out with some of the best wrestlers from around the state. Enter through door 14. Coach Hull from Indiana Pride will be our guest clinician tonight. Coach Hull has been at the helm of Indiana Pride and has helped produce multiple state champions, place-winners, and All-Americans. Be there tonight. Get better.
  12. Last Wednesday we had over 40 kids grinding it out with multiple state placers. Be there tonight and get better. We start rolling at 6pm. Enter through door 14.
  13. Enter through door #14. Wrestling starts @ 6. We look forward to seeing multiple clubs represented tonight. Tonight will be mixture of technique and live. Come learn from the best! Everyone is invited!
  14. Every Wednesday our room will be open to all MS and HS wrestlers. As the "off-season" progresses we will have multiple guest clinicians showcasing their technique. This is a great opportunity to grind it out with 2016 IHSAA State Champions and test yourself against some of the best wrestlers in the state. Tomorrow's clinician will be Warren's own Jim Tonte. Aside from being repeatedly the best dressed coach at the State Finals; Coach Tonte has produced 5 state championship teams, records in total points scored at the State Finals, won eleven consecutive Marion County titles, produced more Fargo AAs than any other active coach, and currently has multiple wrestlers competing at the collegiate level. Come learn from the best and grind it out with wrestlers from across the state!
  15. Warren has multiple wrestlers doing very well on the field this fall: Brogan, Tonte (scored three touchdowns Friday), McKinney, Knox-Abbott, Anderson, Blackburn, and a slew of others.
  16. I fail to see why this is relevant. What is relevant is the fact that the coaching staff I am a part of works tirelessly for 300+ days a year for our kids. Once again, time spent (i.e. hard work) will produce positive results. If you put in the time necessary you will have more success. The kids will see and respect your work ethic/high standards and it carries over. As previously stated; it's simple, not easy.
  17. I don't really respond to these posts (I'm a history teacher and hate anything that has to do with math and numbers). The bottom line is that it is up to the coaching staff to build relationships with community to increase their participation and involvement in wrestling...regardless of size. A great coach and a great staff from elementary on up can do great things for a community. It's simple; not easy, but simple. Hard work gets it done.
  18. Anytime a coach receives an award like this it's a direct reflection of not only himself but his entire staff and program. Congrats to all and good luck this weekend...unless you wrestle us. Coach Gill, I'm pretty sure I'm insane. Nothing like climbing cliffs without ropes to develop mental toughness. Congrats buddy!
  19. Perry's regional is stacked at 126. Red, Uk, Wright, McGhee, Haire...one of those boys ain't making it to New Castle.
