  1. While I'm thinking of it, isn't Doster at New Haven? Is he too big for 6?
  2. I think you have the possibility of two this year alone. Heather Crull. Evansville is going to be a track race at 106. There are lots of possibilities: Schaefer, Hockaday, Rioux, Feeler, Heaston, LaRocca, and Krueger. I don't know their current weights but Syra and Zirkelbach are possibilities. I'm sure I'm forgetting others. Heck, it's a tough row to hoe, but you could throw in fourth female state qualifier in MaKenzie Smith.
  3. That darn list had the Springfield Cardinals and the Whitewater Elkhorns. Mr. Elkins did some serious research because those are some old, old schools.
  4. Just in case...https://hickoryhusker.n.rivals.com/news/long-lost-indiana-high-schools-and-nicknames
  5. Brookville was posted further up. Greyhounds.
  6. Could have been worse. You could have been a couple of years older guarding Palombizio.
  7. And, S Hildebrandt, A Dieringer, S Russell, Mark Hall II (???, but.won his bracket), The whole tourney is littered with upcoming State champs. I wonder if other years contain that level of talent?
  8. Indeed. One correction, Richmond Regional. I should know better.
  9. I believe she wins the Franklin Country Region next year and has a chance at making the State.
  10. I agree with you that work is necessary, but it insufficient when your opponent is also working. And really, how many of the kids this weekend aren't putting in the work? Academies, great programs, coaches & drill partners, travel experience, private lessons are a significant edge. Can a hard working kid find those (or vice-versa), maybe but it is a hurdle. It would be interesting to know how many academy kids are competing this weekend. I think it would be a relatively large percentage.
  11. I believe they are 1-1 in the last year or so; should be a good one.
  12. No doubt, quite a bookended pair of hard working dedicated kids.
  13. Ha! I suppose when you have that many quality wrestlers in a one day event it's probably to be expected. There aren't a lot of lot events where you son or daughter can run into a kid from New York or Florida (which is great for the tournament, less so for your son).
  14. And yet we still go, year after year after year I get sleepy just thinking about it. Still there is nothing better than hearing a quip or two from Coach Red.
  15. This is the link I received from Southport. https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=499&p=3757 It is the same link as what Roncalli posted on Twitter, so it looks to be the correct general admissions link.
  16. I checked the rankings. I missed Mr. Short Carry...Charlie LaRocca.
  17. He's got a very good chance. I agree with you that it's tough. But it's relatively equal. If I recall, there is Seng, Zirklebach, Feeler, Schreck, Heaston, & Krueger (I'm probably missing someone, so apologizes). They're all close. I'd probably give Seng an ever so slight edge, but I wouldn't be surprised by any of them getting in the top four.
  18. He's going to advance And advance at no less than 2. Ramsey, Reed, and Smith are good wrestlers, but Seng and Zirkelbach are on a bit higher level. He's got a great shot at anyone in that Semi-State.
  19. That's too bad. I was really looking forward to watching Preston. Darn.
  20. Doesn't look like 106 Preston Haines (Brownsburg) is either.
