  1. so you think the number of people that graduate with a wrestler impacts how good he ends up at wrestling?? classing individual state in indiana will destroy the little respect indiana has earned nation wide. the only benefit to classing individual state is giving out more medals....if we want to make indiana wrestling perfect we should just not keep score and give everybody a gold medal!!!! everybody would love it!
  2. nobody outside of the wrestling community cares about wrestling. even the best big schools in the state fail to generate interest....Wrestling isn't basketball or football...ruining our one class individual system will just turn away the bit of interest that already exists...personally, i have been to every individual state championship since 1998 but if indiana starts classing individual state i will never waste my money at another individual state championship. classing individual state will destroy the sport in indiana - we arent strong enough overall to survive
  3. Classing the individual state championships would be horrible and would destroy the sport in Indiana - the fact that Indiana is one class is one of the advantages our state has over others. Wrestling is an individual sport between two men who weigh the same - it is one on one. Let's not ruin the sport in Indiana because some smaller programs aren't as good at producing great wrestlers. Mater Dei has always been a small school and they dominate the state. This talk of classing the individual finals is truly disturbing and I would guess is motivated by a few coaches' selfish ***NO NO NO***ions.
  4. Agree. I think they could pass Castle too in the next few years though.
  5. You gotta quit living in the past and adjust. This is like posting the jobs numbers from when W. Bush was President and Republicans controlled Congress - Yeah, it's awesome but it doesn't change reality. The democrats took control of Congress in 2007 and look what happened. Move on; we live in dark times where honest competition is seen as immoral.
  6. You are delusional. Central has more wrestlers that can actually make a splash state-wide then Reitz, Memorial, and Castle. Teams like Reitz are falling behind and I believe they have peaked.
  7. My point was they are moving out of the group of "perennial losers" and even beating Reitz, Castle, and Memorial some years at SIAC now.
  8. It's interesting to see how quickly Central has shot to near the top of the SIAC. Their wrestlers and program seem to benefit from the competition they get from their coaches' fearlessness in scheduling. Some other SIAC teams should take note.
  9. argue that combining sectional/regionals into one two-day event with full wrestle backs would earn more shared revenue overall because you would have full teams showing up (paying admission/buying hot dogs and chips) both days instead of a full team at sectionals then half a team at regionals a week later.
  10. you combine sectionals and regionals into one friday/saturday event where the top four with full wrestle backs advance. then, at semi-state you wrestle the first round and the loser is eliminated then after that full wrestlebacks to fourth. the way it's set up now is wrong...some kids that would get majored or pinned by 5th or 6th place sectional finishers end up at semi-state
  11. I think lucas robertson decided to "retire" during sectionals one year.
  12. Everybody needs to hold their horses. At this point it's only fair to compare him to all the other two year varsity, one time semi-state qualifiers from Reitz. Until the kid wins the matches that actually matter it is disrespectful to the kids that did to say he is better. But, to his credit, at this point he looks GREAT against 113 pound scrubs.
