The topic is "Who's your school's most accomplished wrestler". She's probably the most accomplished wrestler from Indiana.
Olympic Bronze Medalist
4x World Championship Medalist
I think this was asked because the OP clarified it was for high school:
As great as she was/is, not in the conversation, IMO, if limited to HS.

That always bothered me too. Why call it semi-state when there's four tournaments. Quarter-State is the right answer. IHSAA is bad at math.
I think this is how the IHSAA sees it. A Sectional is part of Sectionals. A Regional is part of Regionals, A Semi-State is part of Semi-States and then the State Finals. A snip from From IHSAA website that helped me :

Not sure I want to go back to GA. Ticketmaster, you have 1 job, come on, figure it out. The school allotment idea seems good as long as AD's agree to do it. Once again I am reminded how different Wrestling is to the other sports which adds some complexity that needs addressed.
One thing I do know, no way would I want to be security with GA. Don't think you could pay me enough to do it. You are either playing favorites, a jerk, too strict, too leninant or some combination of all the above. Been there done that...

The IHSAA loves having its championships in Indy. There’s a reason this was the first IHSAA state champion in any sanctioned sport to be crowned in Evansville. Outside of Bloomington for cross country, locations other than Indy are only sought when there’s a conflict in scheduling or renovations with a particular venue (NBA All-Star Game, Indy Indians playing at home, etc.)
See you at Gainbridge next February.
Yep, IHSAA loves Indy and moves if needed. Basketball is being pushed a week due to NCAA tournamnet games this year.
A few clarifications, Track & Field is Bloomington. Cross Country is Terre Haute. Softball is West Lafayette. Volleyball and Gymnastics are in Muncie.

NM, sorry! Didn't look close enough. Finals aren't listed... Maybe try going to the brackets on track and then clicking the green tirangle thing. That's how i did it in the past but no longer subscribe to Flo. Hopefully that works, if not, i don't know:
-
To watch from Track, you need a flo subscription. To watch on IHSAATV.org, you had to purcase the PPV. At least that is my understanding.

From a distance, seemed like Evansville embraced the State Finals and did a nice job! Maybe some tips for future State Finals? Don't recall shuttles or food trucks in the past. Do recall being asked what's going on? We weren't staffed for this. Thanks to all tnvolved, especially the wrestlers laying it down on the mat!
-
I had to search for wrestling to see it on the app.
-
Go to ihsaatv.org and purchase the PPV. Can use FireTV, Roku, and Apple tv apps as well.

From the State Finals Info Center (There's a site for that ) :
Streaming
All matches on Friday and Saturday, including Saturday night’s championship round, may be viewed via live stream for a subscription fee of $15 via IHSAAtv.org and the IHSAAtv suite of apps (iPhone, Android phone, Roku, Amazon Firestick, AppleTV, and Android TV). If you have a FloPro+ plan, you may also view the livestream at FloWrestling.com through the consolation rounds.

Ouch, man, that's pretty steep. Can parents not get all session tickets? If not, that's very expensive for a family! Probably the most expensive IHSAA state finals to attend. Hopefully this isn't the case and sorry if this has been covered and I missed it.
-
-
Anyone getting any sound? Nothing on any mat for me. Really would like at least some crowd noise. Can always mute and not as enjoyable w/o any sound IMO..
-
Anybody gonna tell the "newbies" or ?
-
I am just planning on not having them until tomorrow at 3:30pm when Track says they will be released. That way I don't get my hopes up and become disappointed. Now, if the very generous and nice folks of the IHSAA release the formula earlier, will just be a bonus! Almost like Christmas morning as a kid.

IIRC, take down to back, takedown and several laces, and I think a final takedown. Here is a link of the match Flo put on X/Twitter if interested:
