Well, I hope he ends up either the 4, 5, 8 or 9 seed. N.Lee is almost certainly going to be the #2 seed & I would rather see Nick & Chad in opposite sides of the bracket to potentially see an all Indiana Final!

I heard 3 on FloWrestling Radio Live today. They were guessing.  Demas lost at conference and Woods has very few quality wins (albeit to go with 1 loss), and I think Chad is the clear cut third in the Big 19 now so there you go.

Flo has a live bracket reaction show tomorrow at 5 central (which is when the brackets come out).

    Hopefully I didn't miss anyone

When was the last time we had that many (or is 13 not that many)?

Its growing. Probably, one the best Girls State Championships in the nation. With Girls wrestling on the rise nationwide, we have taken a huge step forward. I can see more and more girls getting college money to wrestle. For these reasons, I see this as a significant event. I'm sure that the girls and the families of the girls that participate in this event, do not share your opinion. Due to the impact that it has on the growth of girls wrestling and the impact on the participants, it makes my list.

I am hoping VintageGhost was being facetious.

I hate complaining about officials because I feel over all they are great at what they do and I have officiated many years myself. My sons match at 170....other 170 semi final amongst some others I know had some controversy. It’s funny that ive had a few referees apologize about the match saying it was a takedown but time was out. Other refs said it wasn’t a takedown but the time was still not out. They award 2 then after the challenge (which I would have done myself) they change the call. The problem I had is not either ref checked at the table with time keeper how much time their was. I watched the Fielden and Wagner semi as well at 170 and again very similar ending. I heard many people from all over the state talk about the stalling or lack of calls they have ever seen at a state tournament. Of course refs make mistakes and this isn’t to bash refs but more that at the state level make sure you get it right if possible. The second official should not be able to over ride without absolutely knowing the call by the head ref officiating the match has called. I’ve been on both sides of this as a coach and ref. I have not and will not bash the refs because I in no way want to diminish or belittle the state championship won by Mr. Deters. He won and earned the victory. I just hate when so much talk about our state finals is on officials not making calls, or not getting in position etc. I think it re emphasizes my first post on this thread when I started it about the way to get officials isn’t a rotating system.... I’m not a fan of participation trophies. You earn it.....if you get in 10 years in a row you earn it and are voted in. If your a rookie but one of the best you deserve to be in there. Bashing officials will never build it where it needs to be.....but there definately needs to be a change to the system if we want the quality as well as quantity of officials we want.

There are video reviews, it seems like, in every D1 dual I watch on TV.  Many times because of situations involving timing. That review ability doesn’t exist in our high school system. Not our refs’ fault IMHO.

BTW, Graham is a badass. Good luck at the next, highest level.

    1. Mater Dei not winning state as a team! They took 9 and had 9 good chances to win Friday night.

    2. Riley Rust 29-9 over Brock Ellis 49-1 score (5-1)

    3. Noah Hollendonner 40-5 over Noehre AND Levits

    4. Deters over Calhoun

    5. ?

If Parkinson gets a normal draw and gets past Friday night and places, I wonder how much that would have helped.

Bauman Friday loss turned out to be not that bad with Jajuan placing 2nd.

Asbury wrestled great Saturday!! I thought he stepped it up to another level from Regionals. That’s what good kids do, they get better in big situations. Results are all that count.

Peyton is a great kid (according to my son Baxter who did some off season travel with BBurg) who is coached by a great coach and who has turned into a stud wrestler.
