Yeah, it's new. Our old one broke just as it was starting to get cold out.

Justin Ratliff reacted to Patrick Mangan in Best Wrestling Rooms in the State
Ours doesn’t look like much because it’s old but it has a classic feel to it. I like it. It’s my dojo.

Justin Ratliff reacted to ducktails in Jennings County Sectional
Multiple deep weight classes (22 ranked wrestlers) highlight this sectional and make it well worth the ticket price
126 3 state ranked wrestlers will look to start Ford Center run with a sectional title
138 Another deep weight with 3 ranked contenders.
Both are very deep classes, however, nothing tops 157 with 1 returning ticket rounder, another returning semi state qualifier, and 3 talented freshman who have been racking up medals for years. This crazy weight class is a direct result of the State Tournament shifting that took place in the offseason with 3 being new to the sectional.
#9 Asher Ratliff 27-2 Columbus North returning ticket rounder
#20 Elijah Guyer 14-5 Indian Creek
SS #8 Lincoln Cooper 20-9 Columbus East
SS #9 Cori Tonte 22-8 Franklin Community

Justin Ratliff reacted to ducktails in Jeffersonville Sectional
There will be some suspense with the team race but my biggest storyline to follow will be at 138lbs. Will the 2 time IHSGW finalist, Ava Allen, add a sectional title to her growing list of accomplishments? With this being the last year for the girls to compete with the boys, she could be the last one in history to accomplish the feat.

Jeffersonville won a tight dual with county rival Charlestown and the Jeffersonville Sectional will be equally tight. It appears to be a 2 horse race with Jeffersonville having a slight edge.

Justin Ratliff reacted to TeamGarcia in 144 is a nightmare
here…
I like A & B …. Why ? They gonna be battle tested .
They gonna face each other 2-3x in the next couple weeks in the State Series . Could possibly split wins during that time but that’s what we all pay for admission for . A healthy Reynolds is going to tough to beat .
1st matchup … Mooresville Semi State then they’ll face each other again at Evansville Semi State making it a guaranteed matchup with Huyvaert with one of them at State . LOCK IT UP 🔐.
Walker is my option C then D would be Arberry .
Will it happen like this, Will the Wrestling Magic 🎱 ball be in TeamGarcia Palm again this year … WE GONNA FIND OUT !
Wooooooooooooo !

Justin Ratliff reacted to MUSKEEWRESTLER in Football coaches against wrestling?
As far as quarterbacks go. I'm going back a lot of years, but Brad Traviola quarterbacked a state runner-up and won a state wrestling title in the same year. It can be done

Justin Ratliff reacted to jshep86 in Penalty for calling your own injury time
Absolutely getting bad and I agree we should follow college rules when it comes to this giving opponent choice! Something has to change. Having a gas tank and being able to compete the whole match is part of the process! When a kid is hurt a kid is hurt but coaches def. Should be preaching to kids you don't call it unless hurt, not gassed. Biggest thing i see its usually after 2nd period and they never call a 2nd injury time! Seems to be preached as a strategy by some teams these days.
-
Justin Ratliff reacted to Y2CJ41 in Penalty for calling your own injury time
That would be a big lawsuit waiting to happen. No referee should be put into a situation to determine if a kid is hurt or not.
The simplest solution is do what college does and give the opponent choice of position. It's not a penalty, but gives the opponent an advantage.

I agree deep with talent but believe gavin jendreas has really separated himself from everyone. 2-8 a toss-up but #2 and on jendreas was cutting! He has turned a corner!
144 you may call me crazy, but jeffrey hueyvart is the one to beat. Hes been on a mission all season and I think wins state by a decent margin.
