  1. I guess we aren't going to state. weekends after state are Dominate the Dells, Tour of America Nationals, Iowa Nationals, TN Duals, Ohio TOC, and Viper Pit Duals. So no we will not avoid the best kids in the nation to wrestle 2 freestyle tournaments locally(no really locally bc Indy is 2+ hours away). Oh well we get tons have experience and training in freestyle in our club.
  2. Attention wrestling fans: Thanks to the Crown Point State Farm Office of Bob Rees, the Crown Point wrestling sectional semi-finals and finals will stream live on the internet at regionsports.com and regionwrestling.com, this Saturday starting at approximately 10am. Chris Ramirez of the Region Sports Network has the play by play call. He'll be joined by on the microphone by Bill Hawkins of the Region Wrestling Academy and former area wrestling coach and local Region wrestling expert Bob Rees. The live video stream coverage of this event is thought to be a first of its kind in Northwest Indiana, and according to Ramirez, his network will consider more wrestling tournament wrestling coverage in the near furture. "We're open to the idea of expanding our video coverage to include the semi-state from Merrillville," Ramirez said. "We've got nationally recognized wrestlers in the area. This sport warrants more coverage in my opinion, and video stream is the ideal platform. If all goes well, there's real good chance we'll be doing the semi-state."
  3. I don't think NUWAY does a very good job on promoting their events. It is always hard to navigate their website. I knew about the dual, but did not find anything out about the youth open that was on friday until it was too late. It did look like there was some great compitition from the east coast and California. Next time they run this event they should look to see what the host state has going on, so they don't schedule it again during our elementary state dual.
  4. I might have a really good 60lb for you. The dad is checking his kids weight and will let me know in a bit. I know your lineup is due today, so I'll let you know either way.
  5. Friday is only a college open I think. Brewer I think he meant that NUWAY blew him off about scheduling their dual that weekend.

  9. Did Donaldson transfer to Portage or is that and error?
  10. The new website looks amazing. I can't wait until my little guy is old enough to reap the benefits. Indiana wrestling is getting better and better every year and a website like this is only gonna promote our wrestlers and this state even more. Keep up the good work guys.
  11. Dual meets are basically elite tournaments. You have to decide if your kid is going to be competitive in a weight class that could have an older 6th grader in it. Dual meets are great because you get a ton of matches, but if your kid is really young you might want to wait until he gets older to compete.
  12. Region Wrestling Academy still needs 2 spots filled for their Grand River Rumble elementary dual team(6th grade or below, based on last year's school year). We need a 110 and HWT(125+). Wrestlers will get between 5-8 matches on Sunday. There is also an open tournament on Saturday, so your wrestler can potentially get 13 matches over the weekend. We need to know by tomorrow morning, if you can help us out and wrestle it will not cost you anything to wrestle for us on Sunday. call me 219-381-7557 or reply on here.
  13. *Athletes may weigh-in in the morning of the tournament as well, Athletes participating in both styles may weigh-in. Athletes who are participating in ONLY Greco-Roman will NOT weigh-in on Friday. 7:30 PM to 7:50 PM This is the part that makes it seem like any division could weigh in Saturday morning. Please respond back so we can figure out if we will be making the trip.
  14. well we are out then. How do you expect people out of state or just a few hours away to make it there at that time on a friday. people work and kids have school still.
  15. Ok so if my kid is a novice I could weigh him in Saturday morning for all 3 styles?
  16. When is the deadline for these teams to turn in their roster? They already posted pools, but 9 teams still don't have rosters posted.
  17. If they offerred it to Alex Tsirtsis they might get some Northwestern transfers. May be the only way to keep some of Indiana's best to stay in state. If not him maybe another well known wrestler from Indiana.
  18. Team Indiana won the Cadet/Junior division as well. Great showing from our state. I am looking forward to our younger guys representing this weekend at the Heartland Duals.

  20. Go up there any time after 6 monday through thursday and you can talk to someone about registering your kid. The next session starts in May.
  21. 2018- Andrean will be contending for the team State title.
  22. Hopefully ISWA can plan ahead and not schedule the state tournament the same weekend next year. I would of loved to take my son to this tournament. This is what younger wrestlers are working towards and it would be awesome for them to experience this event in the future.
  23. I misplaced my flier, what time are weigh ins tomorrow morning? Is this tournament blocked weights/8 man brackets?
