Since this new area is becoming a booming wrestling section of the state I have decided to take a visit to the Caprino @Y2CJ41 home on Sat for an "un-official" visit for a potential landing spot for a future hammer.  Reporting no names but this kid has been previously Frepan/Seymour trained

It’s happened many times in the past, Public to Private or back Private to Public . Odds are it’s going to happen many times in the future. Lol
 

 
 

I don’t think much will change in a match just because of adding an  extra points or even point of contact point . Experienced refs still going to hit them stalling, maybe even faster now with stalling because they want action . Points change will award the active wrestler, team scoring will prolly go up in Duals with Majors and Techs as well and we may see less OT matches . 
 
I love technical wrestling, score points, score a lot. This is what I’ve always told my sons . I’m not driving hour away to see you pin a kid in 15 seconds . Go out there and score, score and score points. I’m glad they’re awarding wrestling technicians . 
 

Really impressed with these High Schoolers Bo Bassett & Jax Forrest performances. “Kids” taking it to these multi time NCAA Champions . Seen up to 11-12 years age differences in these two. Usually we see these high school kids are wrestling at NHSCA’s National Championships . No … they got bigger and better expectations on their table . Future is bright for USA Wrestling . I’m just at WOW ! 

Word is most of the charges gonna be approved.

He was a semi state qualifier for Indian Creek beating freshman Tristan Ruhlman at sectional.

125- I was going to pick Figs at whatever seed they gave him .
Reasons … He came back from a loss to Provo from Stanford in OT 13-8, in early February to beat Provo 4-1 at PAC 12 Championships . 2 of his loses was injury defaulted and was giving a loss to Volk at Cliff Keen which is debatable. You can check that match out on Flo. Flo even did a story on that match . His only real loss match was to California and Oregon State Rival Maximo Renteria . Wonder why Maximo didn’t wrestle in NCAA’s cause he would have AA if not a finalist . Both know each other very well . 
 
As stated earlier Rich is Family . Asa wrestled with him on Team Shutt a few times while in High School . Super Proud of him .

So this year's state tournament was "fine" and you are no less a state champ, placer, or qualifier if you went to this one than if it was held at indy or somewhere else. 
 
However blindly acting like it was all sunshine and roses is silly. 
 
Evansville as a city did great. Most people found criticism with the IHSAA leadership. They could have moved the state tournament. Do it the same time as swimming. Ncaa does it all the time especially at the D2 level. It's a great atmosphere. . . It's also cheaper for most schools. 1bus, better hotel rates, AD only has to be in one place. Communities love it.
 
Ihsaa leadership wanted to be at all the state events.  Even came out and stated travel to and from the different sites on competition day was not something they were interested in doing.
 
I think some of you would feel differently if your loved one was competing in this tournament for possibly their first and/or only time.  Easy to blow off poor planing and tickets problems if you already have a "hookup" or you don't mind spending $102 on tickets. 
 
moving wrestling was the path of least resistance.  Wrestling is a second class citizen in Indiana. It probably won't change until we get a "wrestling guy"  on the ihsaa staff.
 
 
So was this year's state tournament perfect? ? ?  No... is it time to move on?
