Lake Central: Undoubtedly Kyle Ayersman. Three time state champ (2010, 2011, 2012) and took third in 2009. 193-2 overall career record and I believe a four time Al Smith finalist with three titles.

Congrats to Ed Pedowski of Carmel on being elected to the Vice Presidency of the IHSWCA.  He will serve a two year term, then become president at the end of Jason Cook's two year term as president.

Would love to come back to my old stomping grounds. The Robert Emerick Harvest Classic is all about tradition. Have heard many great stories from others about coach Emerick. Here's one from my dad, while he was an assistant coach and they were setting up for the Harvest Classic he asked coach Emerick if he needed any help or anything else from him. Coach Emerick responded with, "Go home Timmy, I'm just going to sleep here tonight", and coach Emerick slept in the coaches office that night, many great memories from this awesome tournament!

Eric McGill has risen through the ranks of the NCAA officiating. He has done D3's and D2's while doing ACC conference matches the past few years. He is getting close to being at the NCAAs and you'll likely see him there in the near future.

He got his break when he was reffing IHPO and a college coach put him in touch with some higher ups in the reffing world.

Or is @Jcjcjc going to head back to his former coaching school and give up the reigns at Hobart to @brickfor6

    Lots of speculation and possibilities.................tbd

First off we have to be very thankful we are having a season. It doesn't look promising for the states that have moved their seasons and we are extremely lucky here. I wasn't sure we would get through a month of the football season. I wasn't sure we would get through a month of the wrestling season, but here we are.

We all want fans at our events to cheer on the kids. This year has been really weird without fans in the stands. Last night was our first home meet with fans and it felt different and nice to have to people yelling and screaming.

With everything else going on in this world our kids having wrestling is even more important. Be appreciative of the efforts of the administrations from the IHSAA to local schools for working with us during this time. Our kids are having a season and it is looks good that we will complete it. That is something many states may not be able to say.

I thought in the spirit of it being the greatest weekend of the year we can share the greatest experience/story that we have encountered during state weekend.  Mine has to be my first year as head coach and being FORTUNATE enough to coach such a hardworking kid that earned earned every bit of his state championship.  I say fortunate because I know some coaches go there entire careers (my dad being one of them, 20 years) without having the joy of coaching a champ under the lights.  Going down 5-0 in the first period, Jake wrestled his tail off to score 9 unanswered points to take the 195 title.  i do not coach anymore but I think about that match all the time and look forward every year to seeing a match where the underdog comes from behind to win a big one.

I know there are some great/inspirational memories and stories from this weekend and look forward to reading them!

Best of luck to everyone this weekend and drive safe!

The face of Indiana University Wrestling this year. With the big changes this year, new coach, new facility, he has really been the steady man all year in the line up.I hope he gets a good draw in the tournament and stays out of the wrestle back side of the bracket.

I want to give kudos to IU's Jake Kleimola (Merrillville).  While he was a IN HS State Champion, wrestling at 197 in college hasn't been easy.
2017 - He redshirted his freshman year and went 3-4 with his only wins against wrestlers from Eastern Michigan (non-starter), DII Findlay and Muskegon Community College.
2018  - Things didn't get much better as he stepped into a starting role for IU, obviously before he was ready.  Jake went 0-13 last year but only 4 of those lossed were major (or higher) decisions.  There were several close matches, including seven by one or two.
2019 - Jake finished a respectable 13-18 on the season with an 8th Place finish at the Big Ten Tournament.  That's a huge jump and one I thought should be recognized.  He has two more seasons to go.
  23. Thanks

Kleimola looked wonderful against the #7 seed. 13-4 major, committed to his shots and rode well.
In my personal opinion, Luigs was very competitive even in a major decision loss. He scrambles like crazy.

This error had nothing to do with the IHSAA ... they have been busting it on your behalf and are working hard to make this a great experience for everyone.   If you have to throw someone under the bus throw me.  Mark Durham.  The buck for this TW mistake has to land somewhere.   They were built this morning while I was in transit from some Evansville events back to Indy ... I should have pulled over at the Exit 87 Country Mark gas station on I69 south and checked them before they went public.   I didn't.   As it turns out they were set-up correctly, but there is a little check-box at the bottom of the build screen that says, more or less, "use saved lines instead of default lines" ... well, it needs to be checked and wasn't.   And you know the rest of the story.   Again, I am sorry.
    The "Show" was fantastic.
