  1. Funny, it seemed like pretty much the same guys although both teams moved a few weights around. I say that Cathedral just lost some weights it shouldn't have this time. A few matches make a huge swing. I think the two teams could go back and forth any given day. Oh and the Stevenson- Harvey match had a different outcome although it was still an amazing, close match. Also can be a different result any day. Two good wrestlers!
  2. We absolutely love these shows. Thank you for taking the time to entertain all of us wrestling addicts.
  3. Well Tommy is going there so maybe they will give her that job :-) They have quite a few good wrestlers coming in the next few years.
  4. There are two classes in the High School division at The Freak Show. I believe Timberman won the Varsity division , not the Elite. While it is still an awesome accomplishment for Timberman, it should not be confused with the Elite division. Way to go to both CJ and Jared though and to the other New Pal boys that got some mat time this weekend. Eugene Starks competed at Super 32 and Cam Diep is in the placement rounds at The Freak Show, Varsity division. Coach Red has a good group.
  5. Those results are from the Cadet division, which makes a difference. While I agree that Lee could end up being one of the best wrestlers in IN history, I do not see him majoring James this year. Regardless, it will be a match I hope to see.
  6. The thread strayed. Neither James or Lee being referred to in this are Freshmen.
  7. Actually he did beat a few Nationally ranked wrestlers. At USAW, he had Chase Singletary in the finals who is ranked 16 on Flo and 18 on AWP and along the way beat Jordan Deiringer who recently fell from the top 20 on Flo. In the finals at NHSCA, he had Ross Graham who is ranked 19 on AWP. He has beaten Max Dean, #10 on Flo 170 three times this past summer. This year at IHPO, he beat #20 Dakota Geer in the finals and last year at IHPO, he beat David-Brian Whisler who is 17 on Flo and 13 on AWP. Also, he beat Beau Breske in a freestyle match a few months ago. Breske won both Cadet and Freestyle championships at Fargo this year (and I believe last year) and is #3 on Flo at 170. Mitch Sliga is a legend and no one is discrediting his success. His success is definintely more widely know with the freestyle competition that he has had whereas Blake has competed more at dual competitions and a few big tournaments. He was injured last year and missed out on Cadets duals and Fargo. Maybe we will see him hitting things like Super 32, Flo, and Fargo this year and see how similar their Junior years are. As of now though, I think they are comparable through their Sophomore years even if Mitch has an edge. I dont think anyone is saying that Rypel is better than him, just that they are similar since they both have had success at higher weights at a young age.
  8. It looks like the graduating seniors have been removed and the rankings updated. There are several IN guys representing- 113 Garrett Pepple ranked 20 130 Chad Red ranked 4 126 Nick Lee ranked 9 132 Brandon James ranked 10 138 Tommy Cash ranked 14 145 Tommy Forte ranked 8 145 Drew Hughes ranked 13 182 Blake Rypel ranked 8 HWT Shawn Streck ranked 4
  9. (Track had names backwards on CJs match). This should be interesting!

I want Black to buy me a lottery ticket.
  11. Like who? I have been hearing that they will have a down year after losing their seniors.
  12. Anyone know what happened to some of these guys? Like Tyler Griffith and Christian Bennett? They were still wrestling a few years ago. I havent seen Mason Waninger for a while but he used to be a tough little dude. Raul Sanchez? Paul Thomas?
  13. He hasn't been talked about much this season but he is definitely a contender. I believe he lost to Jankowski post season last year and at Scholastic duals but could very well get the W this time. He also had a close loss in a barn burner of a match with Rypel pre-season. He is my pick to be under the lights with Rypel at 182.
  14. Some draws are not allowing our original picks. My 2 cents- 106 Egli vs Bailey 113 Pepple vs Crary 120 Red vs Hudkins 126 Micic vs Chastain 132 James vs Wilson 152 Macri vs Carroll 160 Corsaro vs Hughes 170 Osborne vs Stevenson 182 Rypel vs Chambers 195 Johnson vs Omar 220 Robinsob vs Miller 285 Bernard vs Hemmelgarn
  15. Definitely some interesting picks on some of these. For starters, I disagree at 113 for sure but then you seem to completely lose it at 152. Funny guy 152- Im taking James as the cutie in this one. 160- I am sure Borta will be a great match for Vinny but I will respectfully disagree on a pin possibility 170- I think there will be a surprise at this weight 182- Rypel and Steffy have wrestled twice this year. The first time was a pin, the second was a tech fall. An upset is always a possibility though I guess. 285- I wish Riddle all the best but um, not happening.
  16. Simple seeding at each level would make a huge impact. There are several semi-state brackets that have maybe 2 state level wrestlers while others have 6. Even if you do all you can do and come out a 1 from regionals, you can easily hit a 2 that happens to be the 2nd best in the state that had the #1 at regionals. It is the luck of the draw and doesn't get the top 8 in the state. There is one particular bracket I saw (and likely more) that has two top 5 ranked kids meeting in ticket round because one of them had the #1 guy at regionals. So one of them go home while two other guys that they would beat move on. It is just not right. There's my rant on that.
  17. Ellis looked hurt going into it. The match was pretty close but it looked like him or his coaches just decided it wasn't worth trying to finish. He seemed pretty banged up.
  18. I doubt we are going to see Lee at Brownsburg High School. I am pretty sure he is at a private school right now. If he doesnt go the private route, there is always the possibiilty he will follow CRed to the land of the Dragons. Just all speculation though.

Will any of the top 4 see each other soon? Have they ever wrestled each other?
