I know you can't go off of who your opponent beat, but the level of competitor that Sergio took down in the finals is ranked in the top 10 in the country. Not sure how Sergio would've stacked up against the IN competition this year, but I think he would've had the same result in both states. Very impressed with Sergio's mentality and technique throughout the entire IL state tournament. Being his coach last season, he has made a huge jump in a year and I can't wait to see how big of a jump he makes this off season! 
 
 @Silence Dogood As far as my loss to Anthony Napules... All I can say is he stuck to a great game plan but I got him back 9-1 under the lights at Merrillville a couple weeks later ;). Losses are great motivational tools lol

Lots of memories from a little guy watching the wrestling Gods under the lights.  But the ultimate memory was winning a state championship under the lights at Market Square.  There was more of a drive to put small schools on the map and know that it could be done.
 
To then coaching Mason Todd under the lights, alongside my longtime mentor Dave Cloud.  Amazing to experience both as a wrestler & coach.  

So my brother was a pretty good wrestler. 4x State placer, 3x state champ. I watched him wrestle at state his freshman year place 7th. Got to see every match of his that year. The next year I decided to sign a dotted line and joined the military. During his first state championship he beat a pretty good kid, named Eric Galka, I was in basic training and missed the match. During his second championship run, he beat another good kid, Anthony Quiroz, I was in Iraq at the time and didn’t see it in person. So during his senior year I made it a point to go see every match of his, near or far. He was going for his third state title, and 4x time state placer. Become the first Portage wrestler to ever do both feats. Still in the military I had something going on Saturday morning at state, got to see his Friday night match, but missed the quarters match. Sean didn’t have one point scored against him, he didn’t let anyone up, no escapes, nothing. Pure domination. Coach Wilkins who was the head coach at the time got me a coaches pass so I could go down with Sean, watch him warm up before the finals match, and be right there when he came off the match. He told me that one was for me. I finally got to see my brother win a state while I was standing by the warm up mat they have set up. By far one of my favorite memories I’ve ever had at state. 

Yea, so if I have a bull who has beautiful horns and he comes up to a bull with not so beautiful horns and this donkey stepped in and said I'm the best here.......how are you gonna argue with the parakeet?

The step out isn't judgmental, it's pretty simple...if your foot steps out of bounds no matter the action the other guy gets a point. It's actually the easiest rule out there to interpret.

IHPO is a decent little tournament.

Sounds more to me like you’re probably unaware of the process.  Matches are paired using a formula between the 4 Regionals and their placements.  I realize at times it may seem like certain kids receive better draws than others.....and honestly, they have.  But it’s not because there is someone overseeing matters that ensures certain kids get an easier path, while others get the hard road.  That’s why working hard and trying to secure a #1 seed is so important.
I noticed you had just joined the site a couple weeks ago.  So my response to you is based on helping you better understand the process a bit.  And giving you the benefit of the doubt, that you’re not trying to create strife with a rival school.  Because I can attest to the fact that the individuals I personally know from SD......spill their guts year round to be the best version of themselves possible, and deserve all the success and good fortune that comes their way.

As stated above, I do believe the rule states that all corrections to match scores must be done prior to the start of the next match on that mat.  That is an unfortunate way to lose.  Official scorer and referee should have been a little better in realizing the situation, as well as the Coach.

First off I want to let everyone know I usually do not read threads on here and I just now signed up to be able to post because it sickens me to see these “likes” and comments! While I do not condone the issue of using plastics, I also do not  know the full story on what recently took place at Carmel High School, nor do any of you! It makes me sad that I see such negative comments towards my high school coach, knowing he has done SO much for many programs and for the state of Indiana. I am not going to sit here and tell you that I have agreed with everything Coach P has done, there have been times we haven’t seen things eye to eye.....But I am not going to forget everything else he stands for and the many improvements he has brought to the wrestling community in Indiana. Nobody is perfect! We all make mistakes, some more public than others. It saddens me to see so many people that have reaped the benefits of his presence in wrestling get on this thread and bash him and “like” derogatory comments about him. 
 
Coaching isn’t easy and dealing with most parents does NOT make it fun. One of the fundamental rules I live my life by is “never kick a man when he is down”. I will put aside my thoughts and opinions and I CHOOSE to reach out and anyone who is down I try to help them rise again and become better! One bad decision does not define you!!! It is when you are down you will find your true friends, I am here for P. Writing thoughtless posts on message boards while hiding behind a keyboard is also a great way to burn bridges ..... something else I try very hard never to do!

Im letting this guy take over as annoying Logansport regional expert.

Well da ole rat finally broke down and subscribed to Flo wraslin.  Can't believe it took so long to get it. Bein a efficando of the great sport of wraslin Im in heaven. Watched wraslin all weekend. Being retired I do have a little more time on my hand. Especially since its cold outside - I ani't laying on da ground doin a brake job or ball joints. Side work slowed down a little - just in time for wraslin. So when da misses is watching grays anatomy or da voice da rat is watching Flo. You young bucks can learn a thing or two.
