  1. Brackets available on Trackwrestling now
  2. This has been brought to my attention. Waiting on official confirmation prior to making any adjustments.
  3. Here they are. https://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/predefinedtournaments/VerifyPassword.jsp?tournamentId=632909132
  4. Wrestling fans, watch wrestling live today at Trackwrestling.com Search for 2001 IHSAA State Finals. Watch it all happen using the NEW Quad view option under mat choice to watch all 4 mats at once.
  5. Making it to Round 2: Evansville - 35 New Castle - 32 East Chicago - 23 Fort Wayne - 22
  6. The Championship match at State will not be included in this package for live viewing. Fox Sports will be broadcasting the Championship match.
  7. Just out of curiosity coaches, how many kids did you have at the State Championships this weekend? How many overall? How many going to finals? Willing to put out a list of them? I know that these kids are absolutely associated with their Schools first, but that little extra push sure seems to help.
  8. We were on lunch at that time.
  9. Thank you very much everybody. This really did help me to make a decision that can work best for everybody.
  10. Thank you all so much for voting and giving feedback. I will leave this poll up for another day to get some more votes in. Personally, I think it is more advantageous in a regular gym for a regular tournament to just do First Available. When you get to the higher ranking tournaments like SS and the facilities are a little harder to navigate around with so many fans, it probably is better to assign mats based on the brackets.
  11. I wouldn't doubt that you were told by ADs or the IHSAA something contradictory. I seem to have noticed a pattern with that over the years. ; )
  12. . . Regionals to Semi‐States – The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place contestants in each weight class will advance to the semi‐ state. 1. Alternates – If it becomes necessary to provide an alternate for any contestant eligible to advance, the following procedure will be used: a. The alternate may be officially weighed in immediately after the end of the official weigh‐in period. b. The 1st alternate will be the last individual defeated by the champion who did not advance by placing. c. When a 1st place contestant is unable to make weight or weigh‐in and wrestle, the 2nd place contestant shall be advanced to the position vacated, the 3rd place contestant shall be advanced to the position vacated by the 2nd place contestant, and the 4th place contestant shall be advanced to the position vacated by the 3rd place contestant. d. When a 2nd place contestant is unable to make weight or weigh‐in and wrestle, the 3rd place contestant shall be advanced to the position vacated and the 4th place wrestler shall be advanced to the position vacated by the 3rd place contestant. e. When the 3rd place contestant is unable to make weight or weigh‐in and wrestle, the 4th place contestant shall be advanced to the position vacated by the 3rd place contestant. f. Flagrant Misconduct – The advancement procedure above shall also apply when a contestant has been disqualified for flagrant misconduct and is not permitted to advance to the next level of the tournament. C. Semi‐States to State Finals – The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place contestants in each weight class will advance to the state finals. 1. Alternates – If it becomes necessary to provide an alternate for any contestant eligible to advance, the following procedure will be used: a. The alternate may be officially weighed in immediately after the end of the official weigh‐in period on Friday evening. b. The only alternate will be the 5th place contestant in that weight class from that site. c. The 5th place alternate will be the last individual defeated by the champion who did not advance. d. If it becomes necessary to provide an alternate for any contestant eligible to advance, the same procedure as used for the semi‐state will be used for the state finals.
  13. I have personally inputted alternates into the New Castle Semi-State and at Banker's Life. I do this if not every year at the SS, it is every other year. Whoever told you otherwise is incorrect. The ADs are involved as are the other Tournament Directors at each site.
  14. This is a response from someone who was actually working the tables on Saturday. Also, I have to say with Trackwrestling and utilizing First Available Mat systems, it really isn't that hard to figure out when you are up. Every kid and every coach has access to a cell phone. They can login to Track and see exactly when they are up with just the tap of a couple of menus. ISWA wrestlers and coaches use this all the time for tournaments that are considerably bigger and have longer wait times. - extending delay in the middle of wrestlebacks -- I'm guessing the computer system went down (we got shut down by technology because one of the tournament worker’s computer had a Malware that came up and we disconnected that computer and they let us back on. Yes, that took a little time. We were also ready to do paper bought sheets) - seemingly random moves to different mats & a lousy PA system making it difficult to hear who's up -- I saw several kids who had no idea that there match was up NOW. Watched one kid who was still in ALL of his warmup gear, had to find his headgear & then told to spit out his gum on the scorers table. (PA system was good, announcer was good. We wrestled first available mat, so kids had to know their bout number and all bout numbers were on the clocks. If a kid didn’t know where he was suppose to wrestle, it was HIS or his COACH’S fault for not paying attention. Bout numbers were on the programs.) - either I should get my hearing checked or they had NO SOUND at the end of periods & relied completely on kids to tap the refs (naturally, those kids can lose focus during such a long day) ( The clocks used did not have horns so towel tappers were used. The table I was at, my kid did a FANTASTIC job. That is done at A LOT of matches and tournaments.) - poor use of mats at the end of early rounds -- they would shut down 1 of the mats with 2 or 3 more matches remaining at the other mats (trackwrestling assigns matches 3 deep on a mat. Once that mat has their matches done, especially if there were a few falls, then that mat was done. That gave workers a break, which no breaks were scheduled.) - no security to keep random fans off the main floor or to keep fans from standing at the balcony rails (Announcements were made throughout the day about people standing in front of bleachers in front of fans. I agree that a lot of the security didn’t do a lot, but announcements were made. Can’t help it that there were a few RUDE fans that didn’t care about anyone else but themselves.) - timing & scoring equipment plugged into outlets that easily got knocked out by wrestlers, managers etc who tripped over the cords (TWO cords got unplugged the whole day. Didn’t seem like that much of a problem. Yes, it could have been avoided, but the people setting up the mats were doing it for the first time BY THEMSELVES. They put some plugs in different places than what was done previously.) - no programs available until just before the 9am start (Programs were printed after weigh-ins were over, which is becoming more and more common so wonderful fans like yourself can have up-to-date brackets without having to make changes and asking questions about why is the bracket different than what is being wrestled.) Now, if you have any more questions, or want improvements, volunteer yourself and see what REALLY goes on behind the scenes of the tournament. Thank You!!!
  15. I am so happy that LC dropped their sectional and I don't have to run one this year. With this weight management stuff, conflicting instructions for bracket creation, and the Carmel stuff too, I would have been pulling my hair out. When LC lost all of their seeds after the seeding meeting a couple of years ago, I didn't think it could get anymore complicated. Good luck everyone. I think some major changes are needed to the Winter Bulletin and procedures in general for the Tournament series because this should not be this difficult.
  16. Warren Central strikes back in he very next match with Brice Coleman winning over Perry Meridian's Sam Fair.
  17. Very exciting Ultimate Tie-breaking finish to Graves' and Warren's Championship match. Ended with Aiden Warren's hand raised.
  18. I agree that this mostly hurts the kids below the 1st and 2nd seed. For the most part, your really good kids hit one of the first 4 criteria and are accounted for correctly. This hurts everyone else. The only thing this addresses is when a wrestler has multiple FF on their record that put their % above someone else's and no other criteria to separate them.
  19. It is really easy to enter your kids. Every coach will have this meet available in your schedule on OPC. You just import your kids to the tournament.
