Anyone that loses in the first round or quarters and wrestles in the 3rd or 5th place match will be in jeopardy of violating the 6 match limit. The only time they won't is if they win via forfeit or get a bye.

It seems like the tournament organizers are just going to figure it out as they go.

If I'm remembering right at the MD Holiday Classic last year if you lost first round the best you could do was wrestle back for 5th to avoid going over 5 matches. With the tournament being condensed to 1 day last year it was a necessity. But I could be wrong, my memory isn't what it once was.

Mater Dei sadly didn't attend this event for quite a stretch of time, including 2015-2017 (plus many others) so not sure this really strengthens your argument.  Plus, 6 years ago you are forgetting about a really strong set of seniors at MD last year and another state champ (and a Lee that didn't compete 2 years ago).  Not sure they would have beat MD at that time.

I'm not sure any of this matters 6 years later. Brownsburg is the obvious favorite heading into team state followed by Crown Point. MD has some very strong individuals but a long way to get to the level of BB or CP.

I am surprised by Mater Dei and Trinity's score. Seems a bit closer than it should be. Trinity is ranked around 6 in Kentucky. Anyone have individual results?

MD wrestled without Brody Baumann which certainly doesn't help and our football players had exactly one week from the state title game to the first meet. We also had a JV 160 wrestling 182 because of football players not having time to get down to weight or enough practices in to wrestle. I wouldn't put too much in that score. Give it a few weeks until the weights fall into place.

Not sure about all the weights but I’ll give it a try.

That’s a pretty solid lineup that can contend for the title. I think it’s a 3 horse race between MD, Brownsburg, and Crown Point.

I think this lineup is very close with the exception of a possible shift or two between 38 and 60.

I don't see Nosko getting tossed, he was very savvy every where but Baumann is a physical yet technical stud at the same time and I think his strength would be the difference paired with his speed..Nosko could hit big moves every where and time and time again did stuff to show he was never out of a match... Almost like Bill nye science guy that would tech you while smiling being respectful yet dominant lol

The late lat drop for the win was a joke in reference to his win this year. I wasn't actually suggesting Baumann would toss him. I'm sure it would be a very entertaining match.
