  1. At what weight will Mr. Crume be wrestling? Tommy Forte is in his neighborhood somewhere. That could be quite a battle for a weight class spot.
  2. I agree. I can see Kemper stay at 145. He looked last year like he could have made 38. Kelley will be a beast no matter where he ends up, but I am guessing 138 also. He wasn't a really big 38 last year.
  3. What outstanding IN wrestlers wrestle for the Franklin Flashes?
  4. Memorial has really improved the past couple of years. In addition to Wedding and Arney who else do they have coming back? Does Mt. Vernon have anything? North Posey? Central will have Kemper and Kelley and they both will be studs, but at what weights? Does Central have much else? Reitz will be full of studs at the lower weights again with Kuhn, Ferguson, Davis, Johns and up top will have Schnaar. It will be interesting to see what weights the lower guys go and how they all shake out. Can Kuhn make 106 again? Harrison will have Mastison back and I can see him going 113 again or maybe 120. Either weight he will be very good. MD will have a solid group of wrestlers. I believe they have 4 state qualifiers back and some solid JV kids as well. Can't wait to get started again. Only about 6 months away!
  5. got any names or anybody you are expecting to stand out?
  6. More importantly, what weight will he wrestle?
  7. Who are the big names? A lot of last years big names have graduated.
  8. Looks like SingleLeg is on the board attacking everybody lately. Obviously trying really hard to make friends.
  9. You really think Molloy will be 138 next year? He seemed to have a hard time making 132 this year. I was guessing 145, but am probably wrong. Will Lecount be that big?
  10. I won't be wading into that pool until next January. I think you are just trying to get somebody mad at me again.
  11. What school does your son, Chris Morris wresle for and at what weight? Interesting he wasnt' "allowed" to wrestle. I would think if he could have beat the state qualifier he would have been allowed.
  12. Castle will return both Brown and Welch, but as far as reserves waiting in the wings, I don't know. Memorial returns a strong group including, Arney, Johnson, Wedding, Bouchie and I believe may have the firepower to overtake Reitz as the #2 team in the city/conference. Reitz loses a ton of talented seniors, but does return Kuhn, Davis, Johns and both the Schnarr brothers. I know they have Tyler Ferguson waiting to step into 106 or 113, whichever Kuhn doesn't go. I would guess Davis will grow to at least 120 and Johns 126 or 132, but we will have to wait to see on that. Mitchell Schnarr will probably end up around 152 and I would guess Mason again at 220. Mater Dei also lost a good senior class, but does return 4 state qualifiers and along with Wyatt Seng, Evan Collins and hopefully a 100% healthy Alex Schneider. Mater Dei should also have Noah Schweizer in the lineup full time at 120 and he is coming off of a ISWA Cadet state title at 120. Should be some tough competition in Evansville again next year. Hopefully everyone continues to train, has a healthy summer and comes back next fall ready to go.
  13. Won't Ferguson still be behind Kuhn and Davis next year or will they be able to slot him in at 113? I would guess Kuhn would try to go 106 next year again and Davis will probably grow some so maybe he would have a spot at 113.
  14. Brian Harvey did pin Ayersman at ISWA Folkstyle state in a vicious headlock several years ago. It may have been five or six years ago. I remember watching it, but you know how time flies.
  15. Brian was dominant all day. I think he showed without a doubt he deserved it. I for one am shocked this is his first title. He is sooooo good. Congratulations to him.
  16. I think the celebrations are great as long as they don't show up their competition or go too overboard. I personally love it when they run to their coach and jump up in their arms. I see it as a big "thank you" to the coach. Kind of a "we did it" moment.
  17. 126. With two two timers in Ayersman and Phillips, throw in Lecount and Crume and then placers from 119 last year in Carroll, Wedding and Vanhook and you've got one stacked weight class.
  18. Evansville Mater Dei has 9 state qualifiers, which is approximately 1 for every 28 male students in the school. Not too bad.
  19. Thanks to everyone of you for the great posts. It really hits home after a tough weekend. Many wrestlers saw their dreams end and many will not fulfill their dreams this weekend. To some there is next year, but to many this will be the end of their careers. Thank you for letting them know they are not alone in their pain. Thank you also for pointing out the lessons they have learned because they competed in this great sport. The hard work, dedication and sacrifice these young men have given to the sport will only help them in their future endeavors.
  20. Someone should come up with a points system to rate each semi-states performance at the state finals. Award points to placers in each weight class, add them up at the end and you have your winner. Could go something like 1st - 30 points 2nd - 24 points 3rd - 19points 4th -15 points 5th - 12 points 6th - 9 points 7th - 7 points 8th - 5 points You could tweak the numbers, but you would have a more objective way of determining the top semi-state each year.
  21. Pierre has 4 losses to Wedding and two to out of state Ian Kahl of Trinity.
  22. At 126 The Professor has Batts moving on to state. If I read it correctly he was stuck twice at regional. What makes you believe he can get out of semi-state after that? Do you think all of the other regionals are that weak at 126?
  23. If you would notice it's "probally", not probably, like most of us would think.
