I’ve never heard of a team losing points for the actions of fans. Not much a coach can do about the behavior of fans

Can we get a recap?

Couple things:
Is Hayhurst in Castle's line up? Hearing he may not be. If he is, I don't see him losing to Vanover.
Did Turner beat out Pierre for the spot at 160 for MD? Do we know for sure if May is going 152 or will he be at 145?
I don't think you will see Hayhurst wrestle. Just a guess but I would be shocked if he is. I am pretty sure it is May's intention to go 152 for the remainder of the season.

I believe that Stuck will lose to Bragg. If it is McGinley or Edwards, then Stuck should win. You never know which Stuck will show up.
Yeah I agree with that. I don't know that Stuck beats Bragg. I think he would handle McGinley but not sure what the margin might be. I how much better is Bragg than McGinley?

Saw the Hypothetical on CP taking on All Stars from 1A-3A teams that went to State and had an idea to fill in some time this week with not a lot of matches as teams ready themselves for Conference.
I thought it would be entertaining to see everyones All-Star Team.
Pick 1 of the Semi State and create an All Star team to battle the other All Star Semi State teams.
There are some guys that can bounce in weight up or down.
106 - Hockaday BB
113- P. Haines BB
120- L. Miller BB
126- Buttler Whiteland
132- Brady Ison BB
138- Cash Turner Edgewood
145- Hayden Watson Center Grove
152- Delaney Ruhlman/Meritt
160- J Conway Floyd Central
170- Baumann EMD
182- Drak Buchanan Center Grove
195- Purdy Castle
220- Critchfield EMD
285- J. Johnson Franklin Comm.
That, my friend, is loaded. However, as I am partial to EMD, I would put Seng at 113 and Sollars at 195. I know Purdy beat him earlier this year but I don't see it happening again. Either way, there are studs everywhere in that lineup.

That was awesome! Glad to see Zeke take the challenge

These weight predictions all look good until some coach throws a curveball in it and bumps a few guys around to optimize their scoring potential. In the past we have even seen a few bold strategies level the playing field against a top tier opponent. I hope some teams bring their analytics coach with them this weekend or at least their HS statistics teacher.
These teams are so loaded that I don't know where you bump guys. You also have to wonder what kind of quality depth a team has that they can bump a kid up a weight class and fill his spot with a JV kid who won't lose whatever advantage you gained by moving the varsity guy. I think there are a few opportunities for creativity but with these lineups you would be bumping a kid out of the lineup who is ranked top 10-15. Crazy

4A Finals
106 BB3 3-0113 BB6 9-0
120 BB6 15-0
126 CP3 15-3
132 BB6 21-3
138 CP6 21-9
145 BB3 24-9
152 CP4 24-13
160 CP3 24-16
170 BB3 27-16
182 CP5 27-21
195 BB4 31-21
220 CP3 31-24
285 BB6 BB37-CP24
Little bit of a BB homer here. No way Brownsburg gets 6 at 132 and recent history tells us that CP wins at 145. I know that could change here but I wouldn't count it just yet. I can also see CP getting bonus at 160 and a fall at 182. I'll give you the falls at 113, 120 and 285 but I think we are looking at a closer dual than 37-24. I would guess closer to 34-29 and it could get closer than that if Frazier can pin at 126. It's going to be electric tomorrow in 4A.

Center grove with 14 ranked wrestlers
Wow, the level of talent at 4A and the depth is unreal. I don't believe we've ever seen this many great teams at team state. There is no where to run or hide. Bumping kids up or down a weight class for a better matchup doesn't seem likely. Teams are just loaded top to bottom.

Big 9 point jump there 120-126?
Apparently some new 9 point pin we've never seen before. It must be awesome.

At first I thought MD got hosed with the draw as a 5 seed. But if you look at the matchups, they fit in as 4 or 5 seed. I have MD and Cathedral as a 7-7 split. However, this should give MD a chip on their shoulder to prove the bracket makers wrong.
Can you illustrate your Mater Dei/Cathedral projections for us?

Had to watch on Flo as I was unable to make it to Evansville. From the first takedown to the second Flo cut out, Johnson controlled the match, and then as I saw the part I missed due to Flo’s technical issues on our film, it didn’t look like Ralph straight up beat him to me. Now, I’ve coached the kid for the last three years, so admittedly some of my bias is probably showing. I know what that kid is capable of and how much better he’s gotten and his mat strategy.
I know Johnson had the first takedown but I don't know that I would say he was "in control" of the match. He had a lead and Ralph didn't seem to be able to break through offensively but with the takedown and nearfall and then the blast double out of bounds I would say Ralph took control of the match. I would like to have seen James stay more offensive in the third but he did what he had to do to win the match. James has improved tremendously over last year. However, I wouldn't say that he's now a clear favorite over Johnson. I think their matches will continue to be very competitive and I do expect them to see each other again. Maybe more than once.

Johnson was in control of the entire match. I’m sure we all watched the same thing. He’d never lost to Ralph prior and if they meet up again, I give it to Johnson.
I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. Were you there to witness in person?

Is this confirmed for rankings outside of IN? Is there a website similar to this one for KY? Wanting to get some stats when on the mic this year!
Mr. Cricket, you can do a google search for Kentucky High School wrestling rankings and find them pretty easily or this link should work
Does anyone know when the seeding meeting will be held?
-
Brody Baumann started his high school career wrestling off for a varsity spot at 113 and won a state title 2 years later at 160. Should win another this year at 170.

Yeah check 160 at Evansville. It's filthy. 4 of the top 5 ranked in the state and many other ranked wrestlers. Some very good wrestlers will be going home disappointed that day.
