  1. Spitballing... 106 Hildebrandt- SQ, defending his triple crown this weekend 113 Slates- ISWA 2nd last year, 3rd this year 120 Davis- 2nd 126 Beam- sectional champ 132 Varner/Selis/Swank/Manspeaker 138 Varner/Selis/Swank/Manspeaker 145 Prentice- ISWA state champ 152 Rinehart- SQ 160 Mammolenti- SQ 170 Osborn/Slatton 182 Wiseman/Osborn/Slatton 195 Chaffee 220 Woods- SQ, ISWA state champ HWT Stoller/Cunningham Verrrrrrry preliminary.
  2. Drew Hildebrandt-Penn 106. 8th place.
  3. Our middle school conference (Big 11) is a weird mix of like half the NIC schools and half the NLC. 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285
  4. Would that make a difference in the Team State points??
  5. Harp and Hersh had a game plan and Zack stuck to it. I've been around Penn wrestling for along time, and that was without a doubt the best match I've seen a Penn wrestler wrestle. Weird saying that in a loss, but its true.
  6. Ballpark: 24,000 for the three sessions. 10,400 for the championship round.
  7. This is downright fascinating. Thanks for all that you do!
  8. There are obviously a ton of outliers as to why club wrestling is doing so poorly. But, and it's sad and pathetic, parents and the way they act is a huge part of it. I can't say I totally blame kids for quitting so easily when these parents are the way they are.
  9. I don't know the process as well as I should... Can wrestling petition to be in the Winter Olympiad?
  10. I know money and television ratings blah blah blah. But it's astonishing that the Olympics, the world's true test of athleticism, can cut a sport where two men, when you boil it down to its base level, are battling to retain their ground (not go to your back or be taken down). Blows my mind.
  11. Woods 220. Kid is wearing down and mentally breaking grown men at that weight.
  12. That would be phenomenal. I've been to the FW semi state a few times, and its so much nicer actually having room to breathe. Long haul to the hospitality room, but what're ya gonna do.
  13. I can guarantee you that any coach/parent/athlete coming from South Bend wouldn't mind a little more travel if that's what it takes to actually be able to get a warm up in before (what amounts to for many of these kids) the biggest matches of their lives.
  14. If a school were willing to give up a coaching credential and invite the fire marshall, we would have a new venue.
  15. Haha my interpretation is where it says "State Finals" on the ihsaa website, it gives the ticket information for all three sessions.
  16. You mean it wasn't a championship match. Many of the matches listed so far were semi-finals. State finals, as stated in the title of the the thread, encapsulates the entire state weekend, not just the championships.
  17. Has it taken 25 posts to say Angel/Perk?
  18. 100% correct. 2009 Young vs. McGinley... Not a particularily well wrestled match, but very exciting finish.
  19. Elk Memorial, East Noble, Penn, and Plymouth at Jimtown.
  20. "under the lights?" Psssh. "Under the Rings!" Considering where this post started, it seems fitting that space wrestling is the direction it went.
  21. I don't get counting the chickens before they hatch. Why put that pressure on the kids? It's like NFL players that guarantee wins. Just doesn't seem to be necessary.
