What most don't know is that Forte started the season with a fractured heel bone, tore his lcl at the Al Smith Tournament, and injured his shoulder in the quarter finals at state. I'd say his finish is quite impressive.

All I know is...the chance that Parris loses again in high school is very small unless he's in Rypel's weight class next year.  Freshman-to-sophomore jump is usually the biggest in terms of strength and ability in high school wrestling.  He will be virtually unstoppable from here on out.  If I were a betting person, I would have no problem putting money on him being undefeated next year unless he faces Rypel.

Expanding the numbers will do nothing. Wrestlers, coaches, and parents just need to start accepting the fact that the wrestler lost and didn't do there job of winning the match. It's as simple as that. Too many should of's, would of's, and could of's...How can we change the tournament so that my kid, or wrestler gets to state? This is where the participation ribbon mindset is starting to engulf the true competition of not only the state tournament, but any tournament in general.

This is not my prediction. I used the rankings, bracket draws and power pole formulas and yes I do not get anything done at work durring wrestling season.

I would say this bracket Fiasco has effected my son as much as or more than most.

Today you start to prepare for greatness.  You were in the exact same spot last week
and last year.  You rose to the occasion and people said Wow!  You will do the same
this week.  Move forward, never look back and in the end you will have a story to tell.
 
As fathers we are called to do more than fix or coddle our young men.  We teach them
that life does not always go your way.  But you always have a choice on how you live it.
What story's will they tell when they are old like us.   Hopefully it will be one that they can
be proud of.  Not one that always went their way.

Strangely enough, as i read the thread and his comments I interpreted him to be questioning the source of the brackets rather than IndianaMat. The brackets had to come from somewhere so i assumed he was wondering if whoever was distributing the info (to Indianamat and to whoever had them in Morrisville) had it incorrect initially. That would certainly explain his question which began "is it possible". Perhaps there is more history than I know but I thought it was fair to state there is an alternate interpretation possible.

is it possible that the brackets that were posted saturday night were just plain and simple, not properly done, and that the ihsaa did nothing wrong?.....they (the ihsaa) drew the brackets as they always do on sunday and the only one to blame for this mess is whomever put together the brackets saturday and posting something that wasn't right? 

and then the next question is who put the brackets together saturday evening if the ihsaa didn't?.....or did they?

I apologize guys, it was me. I made up the phony brackets and handed them out at Merriville. I thought this site needed a boost because it's been so incredibly boring.

you need to read what i said.....i didn't say i got it from another website.....i was emailed a picture of one bracket......

He thought from this post that you were suggesting that the brackets that IndianaMat posted on this site were compiled incorrectly (since IndianaMat were the ones to take the IHSAA bracket formulas and post the brackets) and were therefore to blame for all the confusion.  It's clear from your follow-up posts that you had no idea what had happened or how it had happened, though.

well lets see if i or anyone else fully understood all of this no one would be posting anything....that is why people ask questions.....and i guess i have another one since i have such a hard time understanding things......who is it that handed out the brackets at merriville?.....an ihsaa official?......sorry i don't know that already.....

I saw it and yeah South Adams could have state champs, but they would win not facing the very best. That seems kind of like an empty win to me.

The way I see it, classed gives kids that would be semi state level guys state placers and champions. A classed system just gives them those honors. And if there's an exceptionally good 1A wrestler, then he won't compete against the very best to win a title. And multiple state titles would ruin the mystique of our awesome state finals.

I just don't think it is broken. Again, we have an excellent tournament. I am NOT concerned that only 16 kids call themselves SQs....it is an elite group. Not to mention, the lessons learned in wrestling are learned regardless of your finish (Sectional Qualifier or State Champion).
 
Let's ask Oak Hill who had 10 semi-state qualifiers if they want class wrestling ( seriously, I have no idea if they would like it or not). I would guess their school is buzzing with support for their 10 qualifiers (essentially these kids are viewed as champions by their coaches and classmates whether ANY of them qualify for state or not).
