  1. I was unaware of that.... If thats the rule then I stand corrected... Very tough though because he was stuck for a few seconds before the ref called it. Ref did a nice job it was a pretty loud crowd and the coaches were working!
  2. Really good dual... The score was not close but the matches were all very competitive. I think only on fall which was at 106! Couple thoughts.... Sandefur got robbed. He was down 4-3 and had Fuqua pinned for 5 seconds but you couldn't hear the buzzer. Should have at least got near fall. Garcia vs Fuqua was great... Garcia takedown with 10 seconds left wins 3-1. Padilla Halsted also down to the last 10 seconds as Padilla gets takedown and near points to win. Tsirtsis is a beast... Steveson will be a state placer this year and could win multiple titles he is tough!!! Kral vs Nickson was very good... Not sure on a few of the stalling on Nickson. Kind of his style and I didn't see it. Too bad Berry didn't wrestle.... Match would have been 9 points closer. Bottom line is that Crown Point is fantastic!
  3. Wow! I just checked out some of the teams and there is some top shelf competition at this tourney. Indiana 2nd and 4th ranked teams. Top ranked team in Missouri (30# in the Nation) with a few other top 10's. Top ranked team in Tennessee (41# in the Nation) ANY WAY TO WATCH THIS ACTION??? Any streams?
  4. Kral will have a tough one tonight. I believe Nickson has only on loss and its was in OT. You never know... Berry may bump up!
  5. Key Matches are.... 120 132 152 182 Hvy Falls are extremely important on all matches. 106 - 6 Merr 113 - 4 CP 120 - 3 CP (Swing) 126 - 4 CP 132 - 3 Merr (Swing) 138 - 6 CP 145 - 6 CP 152 - 3 CP (Swing) 160 - 4 Merr 170 - 3 Merr 182 - 3 Merr (Swing Match) 195 - 6 Merr 220 - 3 CP 285 - 3 CP (Swing Match) CP 32 Merr 25???? Should be REAL fun!
  6. Robert Steveson is still undefeated at 160
  7. And to think thier best wrestler, Kourtney Berry wasn't even in the tourney.... Merrillville is tough this year! I wonder if Berry will be back in a week vs CP??? If so it could be really close....
  8. Y2..... I think I speak for many when I say if you can score some brackets you will offically be our hero!!!! Well... You are already pretty cool!
  9. I don't think he has wrestled 106 all year... Not sure why he is still ranked there. He wrestled 113 at Merrillville two weeks ago. Tough kid... If he goes 120 he still would have a good chance at placing this year.
  10. Where's the yearly pre-seeds and article??? I always enjoy the conversation created from that....
  11. I'm with you 100% percent... Not a personal shot at Kral. I've never met him and he carries himself like a great kid. I don't take one thing away from Kral or any wrestler in that circumstance. Its a 99% percent coaches decision and always should be. I leave that 1% percent out there because someone of Krals stature and ablility probably has a pretty strong say on whether he wants to go out there and give it a go in that situation. Quite frankly I would love to see it!!! No matter what it will be closer than last year...
  12. Wow... Not sure but if he did it wasn't close. Steveson is one tough freshman!!!
  13. Yes.... Merrilville looked real good.... 2nd place runner ups were... Garza at 103... He looked real good all day and beat a top 10 ranked kid from Illinois in the semis 8-3 but lost to Illinois 1# ranked (9th National) Nkosi Moody in final. Moody was voted outstanding wrestler of tourney. Brody at 112... He lost in overtime to take second. He has really become a tough little guy! Sandefur at 152... Had a good day but ran into a tough Illinois ranked kid in the final Peppers at 170... Looked good all day but lost in the last 5 seconds!!! 2-0 Trevon at hvy... Ran into a real tough kid at heavy.
  14. I agree... I have seen them both many times and I think Boston finds a way to win a close decision. Brooks is a stronger kid but Boston seems to be a true student of the sport with all the physical tools to win that match. Is Boston really at 113 or 106 this year? Brooks not wrestling?
  15. Wow... Very surprised to see Garza lose to Peek. Sounds like it was a good match... I've seen both and I think Garza is a slightly more polished wrestler but thats why they have the match. Should be an interesting rematch as I am sure thier paths will cross again soon.
  16. Yes.... Some pretty good matches but Merrillville should dominate this one. Who is Steveson?
  17. How does that work then? Will Merrillville definitely wrestle Yorktown? Do you have to win your bracket and then the winners wrestle? I would love to see Garcia vs. Carrol!!!! That would be a war...
  18. Merrillville looks tough this year.... #6 Merrillville vs. #7 Yorktown... Chesterton may also surprise some people this year... What match ups should we be looking out for this year???
  19. Where is Anthony Quiroz at 160 or 170??????????????????????? ???
  20. Look out for Merrillville this year. Only one wrestler lost from last year and a few good incoming freshman... Look for Berry to just destroy people... Padilla has underachieved and should have been down to state last year. Garcia will be a state placer this year... Garza may surprise you this year.... Im telling you this kid may have went from one the of the smallest 103's to one of the biggest 106's. He is ripped... Merillville could very well have 5 state qualifiers this year.... Crown Point may have thier hands full... I don't know... I'm just sayin!!!!
  21. Gotta watch out for Garza from merrillville at 106!!!! Beat everyones boy Cashe at folkstyle state this year and is now a legitimate 106. Kid is tough!
  22. I predict Michael Garza from Merrillville will have a monster year at 103. Wrestled well last year weighing only 95-100. 4 of his 7 losses came to Boston and Fuqua! Won the 2011 ISWA Folkstyle beating Tommy Cash in Semis and pinning a tough Jacob Cottey in the Finals. He should be a strong statewide contender at 103....
