It's not a fight, or a violent act. It's a sport. It's competition. If a male wrestler wins over a female wrestler that's not beating up a girl. If she gets the win, it is a display of being technicaly superior. I never wrestled a girl, but win or lose I would show her and everyone else in the sport respect for my opponent's ability to compete on my level.

Could someone please point me to the section of the Bible that says "Thou shalt not wrestle with a girl." If the kid wants to screw his chance to make history over some masculine pride then I guess he never gained the mental toughness needed to make history in this sport.

Wow...I have never heard of people being so fanatical about their kids sucess. I would never teach a kid to do something so unethical. If you parents are truely worried about your childs small build, then why not get together and petition the IHSAA to open up the 98 lbs. weight class. I'd love to get back to the odd number of weight classes. If parents are that willing to sacrifice their kids social and academic developement for sucess in this sport then I guess the steroid bus is not too far off. Wait, that already happened this year too. Anyone supporting these unethical practices should be banned from the sport, and possibly deserves a visit from the Child Protective Agencies in their community. You know who you are and should be ashamed!

Last season this happened to us twice. The first kid intentionally bit someone, and was DQ'd for the day. The second was the result of a cross-face going into the mouth, and this kid was DQ'd for the day. The official didn't witness either one.

While in school I wrestled a kid named "Major Dodge" New Albany had a kid named "Hickory Hamm" I also always liked "Joe Carr"

If your allowing injured wrestlers to wrestle regaurdless of injury, then that makes you resposible for the possibility of more serious injury. If my kids are hurt then they are hurt there is no acceptable level of injury when I am responsible for someone elses child.
