  1. I completely agree, Brooks is one of my favorites in the state. He and Boston have both worked very hard to get where they are at. I apologize if I sounded like I thought they didn't have to work for their accomplishments.
  2. So you're saying that it's just as easy to win a state title at 103 as it is at 145? We all know 103 is the easiest weight to win at. I used 145 as an example because that's normally one of the most stacked and tough weights. Recognizing the difference between 103 and a middle weight... So easy a caveman could do it. If Brooks and Boston were competing at 126 I wouldn't build them up to easily be the best at the weight class. And for the record, I don't even think Boston is winning 106 this year. So uhh... About that thinking before you speak part?
  3. Because half of the people in this topic underrates the fact the fact that he is a 2 time state champion. And then the other half overrates his 2 state championships as though he won them at 145.
  4. Cody is both one of the most overrated and underrated wrestlers in Indiana this year.
  5. Do maybe a tiny bit of bumping, pull out a realistic upset at 113 and 182 and I could see it.
  6. Now: Sarah Kayla's senior year vs. Sarah's senior year: Kayla, easily
  7. Josh Fuqua. Was runner-up at 103 last year but lost to Garcia in the ticket round this year.
  8. I'm going to go with 120. 11 people in this bracket are former state qualifiers, 3 that have been under the lights(And one person who was under the lights last year couldn't even break through to state this year), and 2 former placers are guaranteed not to place this year.
  9. Ever since the end of last season, it has been clear that Perry Meridian are the favorites to be the team state champions. But I was just thinking today, along with the favorites Crown Point has, if they can pull out about 2 upsets, could they have a legitimate chance of bringing Perry down?
  10. It bugs me when people say that someone "will" lose to someone else.
  11. You mean the match that he was about 5 seconds away from winning? Yeah, I remember that.
  12. Wow, they must have gotten tired of facing each other. Did they go back and forth or was it always one of them that won.
  13. According to someone I heard from, he got hurt while winning and made the decision to default while tied.
  14. I'll bet it has, but I'm not sure... Has the state championship match ever been the sectional championship match between the two competitors? If so when? Because I see Tsirtsis and Mavros in the championship match this Saturday, and they faced off at sectionals.
  15. I respectfully disagree. If you remember correctly, Carroll lost to Campbell at state last year by 2 points, whereas Ayersman was down by 3 at one point in the match before coming back to win. Common opponents may not mean too much, but that's still pretty impressive for Carroll.
  16. Exactly! Look at the 170 results this year. Massengale pinned Austin Bowman. Tyler Willis only beat Bowman by a point, but Willis pinned Massengale first period(When he was healthy). Common opponents/how badly you beat someone doesn't prove that someone else can beat you or that you will beat them. This is definitely the match I am looking forward to most Friday night. Last year there was a minor setback and I got there at 130, JUST missing the 125 weight class. Better not happen this year. And just one more thing for anyone unaware of Crume; So far this year, 3 people have gone all three rounds with him not getting either pinned or teched. #1 Ayersman(2-5), #5 Carroll(5-0), and #8 Robert Boston(15-3).
  17. So let me get this straight... getting a takedown and riding out the rest of the first period, riding out the entire second period, and getting an escape, a quick takedown, and riding out the rest of the 3rd period with the 5th ranked wrestler that placed 3rd last year isn't that impressive? Oh, and Crume isn't tall and long. He somewhat short and pretty good arms for a 126 pounder.
  18. I like #1 as well. Not too fond of the others. #3 is awful. Suppose someone does a failed granby and gets caught on their back a quick 2 count before getting off, there is now a 3-point difference.

  20. I'm going with Welch on this one, weird feeling!
  21. I know I'm from Jimtown, but everything I'm about to say is completely unbiased as if I didn't go to the same school as Crume. Nick Crume is underrated. Weird saying this about the 3rd ranked guy, but all year nearly everyone has been saying it will be Phillips and Ayersman in the championship. Nick has proved to be one of the best in Indiana at 126 and yesterday he controlled #5 ranked Carroll 5-0. As good as Phillips is, a lot of people have built him up to be untouchable this year. We figured out that was nt the case when he lost to LeCount yesterday. And even though he is hurt, people are still giving Crume no chance against him. As X_Rated pointed out, he hasn't been as dominant since he went from 103 to 126. My prediction is Crume 5-1, and then a closer win over LeCount in the semi finals and a great match with Ayersman in the championship.
  22. I'm getting a Stevenson vibe at 160 and a Bernard vibe at 285. And I agree about Kral not winning.
  23. How about #6 Masengale and #7 Adams at 170?
