  1. Thanks Mr. Adams, You did not miss any posts (that I know of), but this is my first time on the site since my senior year. I still get people that knew me from high school asking me about it all the time (3 just this weekend). Like I said, before my competition all I had was my word against yours. And since this is the place where it all started, I figured it would be the best place to get the facts straight. And since this is the place where it all started, I figured it would be the best place to get the facts straight. Congratulations to your son on his gains. High school is the best time to pick up weightlifting. As a teenager, he like all boys his age is experiencing a lot of physical changes, thanks to puberty and the growth spurts that follow his body's natural testosterone levels will be through the roof, allowing him to make great gains with even a lousy diet. I will give your son the same advice I like to tell people: You can go into any gym around the country, say you go at two in the afternoon. And let?s say there are ten guys in there, all of which are doing similar routines to gain size and strength (which are two different things, many think they are the same, but take a step back and notice the sport of bodybuilding is a totally different sport than power lifting). Back to the ten guys... two are a bit bigger than the others. Now go back to the gym at two in the afternoon mon-fri; same ten guys doing similar routines right? Now if you were to keep going back every day at two o?clock for a year you might notice the two guys who where a bit bigger are now even bigger, the other eight are the same size (maybe smaller). So what?s moral of the story? Growth does NOT happen in the gym!!!! Go up to one of the small guys and ask him what happens to his muscles as he lifts, He'll tell you,"Im tearing them so they grow back bigger and stronger" Then ask him if he goes to the gym to tear muscles, what does he do to repair them? He like most high school kids will stand there dumbfounded as he realizes that the whole time he has been lifting he actually did not do a single thing to get his muscles to grow. What I am getting at is that hard work and discipline are great facets to have, however without proper knowledge these facets are useless. Have your son get away from the TV. Read some articles from a trusted source (not one riddled with advertisements, whose authors are paid by the same company who supply the roided freak on the front cover with the money buy his pharmaceuticals). It boils down to common sense: You should know what you put into your body, and what effect it will have. You should know what you are doing to your body, and what effect it will have.
  2. This post is a response to another post that popped up in 08, titled ?the ?S? word?. I titled this one ?I? for ignorance (which is an even bigger dilemma in America than steroids, if you ask me). I simply feel that anyone who takes steroids, hormones, or hormone precursors and wins a state title (or any wrestling match for that matter) is quite undeserving. So I?m going to try to clear my name. And if you know of anyone who still walks around saying I cheated, please have them read this; I?m not sure how else to tell people. And if you don?t care, don?t? read this. I was very distraught after learning about the post toward the end of my senior season, seeing how I was the subject. (However, I was very humored by whichever gentleman made the remark of my going from 145 to 189, ?and being every bit of it?. Especially, having started the season at 183 and over 22%, and even more so when on the Saturday of the state finals weighing in at a whopping 177. 3 lbs.) I thank the few people who actually did the math and figured that it was plausible that a person could go from less that 6% body fat at 145, and be over 176 within a year. Unfortunately I still have to defend myself against steroid allegations today. Normally I stay away from such things (I never post stuff, I believe that facebook is a pathetic cry for attention on top a huge waste of time, and I only created this account to post this message). If you don?t care, or don?t know what I?m talking about, stop reading, I don?t want to waste your time. As in high school, I still have no response to people who say; ?so how long where you on them?. Instead, I feel very sorry for these poor souls whose ignorance clouds thier chances of learning something useful. However, I recently participated in two bodybuilding competitions in May. Both of which were sanctioned by all natural organizations (the INBF and the OCB). There are links below to the banned substance lists, and another to results, so that you can find my name and see for yourself. In the process I took two polygraph tests and one urinalysis before I was allowed to compete. If you?re curious how strict they might be, note that DHEA, a hormone precursor, is on the banned substance list (also note that DHEA is available at any GNC, Walgreens, CVS, or similar drug store). I know very well that steroids are prevalent in high school, along with any other level of competition. I myself believe it is cheating, both your team and your competition, not to mention yourself. I find any person who takes any supplement without knowledge of what it is and exactly what it will do to them is an idiot. I find any person on any supplement without a diet, an idiot (how is a product going to supplement a diet you don?t have???). I?m not trying to say there is no hope for anyone trying to put on some muscle, I?m saying it takes time, knowledge, and discipline. I love bodybuilding, not as a sport, it?s a lifestyle; I thank God for the opportunity to have wrestled, the support of my parents, and especially my coaches. The discipline I have gained from wrestling has directly led to success in everything I do, especially bodybuilding. I?m not sure what else could drive me to eat 7 meals (5,000-7,000 calories) a day. I hope I have at least cleared my name from the ?S? word. For those who still don?t believe me, I?m not sure what else I can do after having taken two lie detector tests and a piss test. If that?s not enough for you try going through 15 dozen eggs, 14lbs of chicken, 5 cans of tuna, 3lbs of tilapia, a few steaks, 14cups of oatmeal, 25+ cups of brown rice, 2 loafs of flax/wheat bread, 1lb of natural peanut butter, and half a liter of extra virgin olive oil per week (which does not include daily fruit/veggi or protein shakes). If you can get all that down and you see no results, please let me know! If you can?t, or simply don?t want to, then you don?t know whether or not it?s possible naturally. So please, don?t tell me what I?m taking, or don?t assume what I?m taking (though I pretty much listed it all), again that?s ignorance, and it gets you nowhere.
