  1. RTC tomorrow night! Come sharpen your craft before Freestyle and Greco State! **ATTENTION** There will be no RTC on Thursday June 9th.
  2. Another great room last night. Plenty of Mishawaka, Edwardsburg, Plymouth kids trickled in with Jimtown, North Miami, John Glenn. We've had a great group of middle school wrestlers coming to get better each week, OH and a kid by the name of Joe Walker who was kind of good at wrestling in high school... Wrestles at some school called the University of Michigan? Heard they're alright too Join us again next week! Don't get lazy as this warmer weather creeps up on us!
  3. Another opportunity to get better tonight 6-7:30PM. Use door J. Must have a USA wrestling card.
  4. Join us in welcoming Tom Hall, Trine University's head wrestling coach this Thursday 6:00-7:30PM!!! Use door J next to the north side loading docks. MUST have a USAW card to participate. Grades 6-12 + College
  5. Our Al Smith Caveman mat is EZ-Flex for ~$8-9K
  6. 41 wrestlers, 10 coaches from 5 different schools, all made the the room better tonight. We’ve been nothing short of thrilled with our turnouts. This Michiana RTC has been boomin’! We are off next week 4/7 - Spring Break Join us again April 14th 6:00-7:30PM
  7. RTC tonight, be there or be square! Word on the street is a group of Brickies will be in attendance
  8. Join us tomorrow at 6PM. We have had great rooms the last two weeks! 52 kids two weeks ago and 40 last week. Don't miss an opportunity to get better
  9. Awesome room last night for our first one of the year! Had 39 kids, 6 coaches, 8 different schools. Starting the off-season on the right foot!
  10. Unfortunately I feel like this idea would take away from what we have worked hard to build. Just not a fan of class wrestling... single class is part of our prestige nationally. We also don't have the depth other classed states do. I just find it hard to call yourself a true "State Champion" if there were 2 or 4 other kids at your weight that won it too... I could see having a 3 tier level by enrollment (almost as levels like the NCAA). Open division (D1), a D2, and D3. All large D1 schools must enter the D1 - open division. D2 and D3 have the option to either enter the open division or remain in their current divisions only. D1 will kind of be seen like crown of the classes as we see in college wrestling. It's kind of the like the old school NCAA's where D2 and D3 champs could enter D1s. OR hold a D2 & D3 state on the same weekend, then all the champions advance to the open D1s the next week where only 1 will be crowned? Idk, there just needs to serve a purpose other than to make people feel better about themselves imo...
  11. Matboss or just upload them onto a private google drive and invite your wrestlers. Very easy to share with other coaches if needed
  12. Mishawaka RWO Every Thursday 6:00-7:30PM - Use door J next to the north side loading docks. MUST have a USAW card to participate. Grades 6-12 + College We are looking forward to another great off-season with many of the region's best wrestlers and teams! Join us each week for an opportunity to improve folkstyle, freestyle, and greco techniques followed by live wrestling.
  13. 113- Jackson (future 3xer?) 120- Leavell (future 3xer?) 132- Seltzer 3xer 160- Conway 2xer 170- Baumann 2xer 195- Sollars 2xer 220- Carroll (likely 2xer) Our depth as a state is only getting deeper. CP still had some impressive new era talent to deal with on their way to a new record
  14. That is what Faulkens has said, but I don't ever remember voting on such a thing. PS bring back the lanyards!
  15. Worth bringing up at the coaches meeting or with the IHSWCA to communicate that to the IHSAA? Not sure what would be best or most effective?
  16. Look's like we should petition for next year to be a normal Friday night again. This has been a mess. The Friday morning has been really inconvenient for some parents & fans to even make it there. Those kids deserve a hype and packed crowd too. Just my thoughts.
  17. Not a seeding factor but considered, we just have a lot of talented wrestlers at that weight with criteria
  18. Last, you need a coach to argue in the meeting
  19. Can't rule out 215lb. Pat Day's :10 headlock for a state finals record either in 2006
  20. ...and this was the fuel to win a DIII national championship
  21. When seeding, we follow a 7 step criteria, close to what IHSAA uses for sectionals. Denton advanced farther last year as a state qualifier, Graber was not. Head to heads and common opponents play a factor as well. We seed 8 wrestlers + 1 if someone misses weight/gets sick/etc. 6 other kids ranked in the state happened to be ahead of him. He just rose to the occasion and proved himself better than criteria or rankings. That's what makes wrestling fun
