  1. Peck, Key word is DEAD whistle....meaning not a live whistle or inactive for that matche. It's not his match and he cannot call a thing. If called upon though he would need to help/know time of incident and that point forward is bad time.... In no way was I suggesting that he interrupt the match! -Derick Huntworki
  2. Coach Peck, Rule 5.1.2 Bad time also involves time that occurs when a clock should have been stopped at the end of a period OR when wrestling has been allowed to continue following a violation when the match should have been stopped. The assistant is a dead whistle, so they couldn't have stepped in and stopped it. Rather, their role would be to note the time on the clock at time of incedent and if conferenced they would advise match official of where exactly the incident occured. Had he decided to continue, wrestling/scoring would have reverted back to that point in the match and all wrestling/scoring that occured after that point would have been erased. Hope this helps! 3. I wanted to remind the coaches, wrestlers and the wrestling community that the Don Patton Scholarship applications are due 3/2/12. The applications are available on the web (you can google Don Patton Scholarship 2012), ask your school guidance department or I have tried to post a link below as well. I would also encourage folks to send donations as well to help increase size of scholarships and # of scholarships. Both applications and donations can be sent to: The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County PO Box 807 Muncie, IN 47308 PH: 765-747-7181 Background: Don Patton was a five-time Indiana State Champion Wrestling Coach and Athletic Director at Delta High School. As a legendary coach he was known for his generosity, caring, enthusiasm, competitive spirit and willingness to help students, wrestlers, coaches and officials wherever he went. His dedication and willingness to work hard enabled him to overcome colon cancer at the age of 32 as he served as a role model for athletes and coaches across the state. Don?s death in September 2003 left a void in the Indiana sports family. The Donald Lee Patton memorial Scholarship was created to inspire those students who exhibit Don?s dedication to hard work, enthusiasm, and attaining one?s aspirations in all facets of life. Eligibility -Graduate of an Indiana accredited high school -Member of a high school wrestling team for at least 2 years -Demonstrates love for wrestling and a spirit for winning -Planning to attend an accredited college or university http://ebookbrowse.com/2012-patton-scholarship-application-fill-in-pdf-d274950747 Sincerely, Derick Huntwork
