  1. I remember that as well, but I also remember him being crazy dominant in high school. One could argue Tsirtsis was the more accomplished wrestler in high school, but so many similarities.
  2. Can someone compare and contrast their styles? Man they seem so similar to me and both are definitely on Indiana’s Mt. Rushmore!
  3. I said before bet the house on him winning. I mean he practically told us to! 3rd, 1st, 3rd…1st
  4. Was Kyrel offered by either Purdue or IU?
  5. ‘23 listed first followed by ‘24 106-(41-5) Dickman vs Schoettle (43-1) rolling with Dickman 3-2 but a very tough match. 113- (42-2) LaRocca vs (41-2) Dickman I think Dickman stays dominant at 5-2 120- (33-4) Hockaday vs LaRocca (37-5) I have Hockaday 5-3 126-(42-0) Thrine vs Rioux (40-5) Thrine could’ve walked on water last year at state and I wouldn’t be surprised. Thrine 5-4 OT 132- (42-0) Buttler vs (37-2) Hockaday Buttler is game like Thrine, but Hockaday rolls to a major 12-4. 138- (48-1) Solomey vs (44-1) Leavell the toughest one to call so I had to go with who traversed the harder path and that will be Solomey. 3-2 TB Cole 145/144- (52-0) Torres vs (39-0) Doster an 0 gotta go, and Torres was on fire last year so give me 5-3 Torres. 152/150 (44-0) Lowery vs (40-2) Kresja Match of the night ? Give me The Terminator Kresja 3-1 160/157- (39-2) Goin vs (41-1) Betz Goin 5-3 in a tight one. 170/165- (25-4) Goodwin vs (41-1) Cressell. If Goodwin had the chops to beat undefeated Rulhman under the lights then he’ll get the jump on the sophomore and wins 5-1. 182/175- (35-2) Cruz vs (42-2) Leech Cruz cruises to a 6-2 win 195/190- (44-1) Purdy vs (50-0) Weaver Very tough match but Weaver wins 5-4. 220/215- (38-3) Clark vs (33-3) Clark a year older Clark wins 6-4 285- (37-5 ) Jones vs Johnson (27-1) I think the battle tested Jones wins 4-3 OT Final score 24-16 in favor of 2023.
  6. Growing up in Southern Indiana it was all about James Brimm. The guy was hitting moves in the mid 90’s in high school that we are now just seeing!
  7. As a brotha, I initially mistook this post for someone airing out their grievances
  8. 44-0 Demarco vs 33-0 Bradley on one side of the bracket, and 2x and current P4P stud Hockaday vs returning sophomore phenom who has yet to lose in high school Thrine!
  9. Dear lord…. I like the proposal of sending Brownsburg to NCSS
  10. Announcers tonight are saying this is possibly the best Penn State team ever and the best collegiate wrestling team assembled? Thoughts? If not who could compete with them ?
  11. Who has the toughest regional bracket, and are there any ranked guys meeting up in the first/elimination round?
  12. Which teams are sending the most ?
  13. Not long ago the premier sectionals were Evansville Central and Evansville Castle no matter how many times they shuffled Reitz between the 2, but now the Southridge sectional has an argument of being better/tougher. Top 5 teams: 1. EV MD 2. Floyd C 3. Tell City 4.,5. New Albany or Jasper. Anyone have an idea on why the shift ?
  14. I also like what Jasper is doing, they have a lot of guys coming back.
  15. Someone in a previous thread mentioned if ECSS wins 10 state finals matches would that be a record ? I’d imagine it would, but what year and region was the strongest semi state on paper in reference to state titles ?
  16. I wanted to start my own thread because I believe this is a topic that deserves some focused discussion and that is the SIAC being down this year. SIAC will always be spearheaded by MD, but if you take a look at the bracket and the rankings for EVV semi state, you won’t find many SIAC wrestlers there. I get that Castle has injuries, Reitz seems to be declining, Memorial isn’t having a good year, North is solid and on the rise, Central can’t field a team, and Harrison hasn’t been good for years. Is this a one off year, or is this a sign of things to come ? Is the pipeline being refilled ? I need answers…
  17. I was there for the Pleak vs Brimm vs Hill battles! Amazing time at state!
  18. #1-#7 ranked can with this year!
  19. Are they the #1 ranked team in Illinois ?
  20. I believe the tradition lives on I just hope they’d consider toggling between 3 and 4A some years because there’s good competition at 3A and winning there isn’t a given. Brownsburg and Crown Point is going to be a juggernaut for awhile because they have way more athletes to pull from in the Indianapolis and Chicago area.
  21. MD winning 3A is no longer a guarantee, so due to their enrollment size I’d like if they would go to 3A.
  22. Is it time to consider having them wrestle in 3A going forward? They are the smallest school size in most divisions and will struggle against the Indianapolis all stars team ( we know who that school is) and the Region all star team with an addition of Chicago and Illinois based teams (we know who that school is). MD is a prideful program, but that is too many odds stacked up against them..
