That was actually my first state finals. I remember him vaguely, I was a youngster. Same year Greg Schaefer won state as a frosh I believe.

Alred and Mendez have a solid chance to pin their way through state. Any other notables? I can only remember DJ Radnovich (sorry if I spelled that wrong) from Gibson Southern pulling off that feat.

You would think, but there’s a lot of diehards that think if Blake didn’t get hurt he’d be the greatest wrestler in the history of wrestling. Let me be clear this isn’t a knock on Blake and one of the finest wrestlers this state has seen. Just think Nick is already almost on the Mt. Rushmore of the states greatest!

Can we finally say Nick Lee is the best wrestler Evansville has produced? There was a wait and see approach but I believe he put the stamp on it tonight!

Lee’s frosh year I mentioned Lee being the best MD has produced. I believe it’s official official now !

Nastiest ticket round matchup in the state and one of the nastiest in recent memory!

It’s a travesty that Alstott or Dalton is going home.

132 is nastier, 126 was good as well. Going with Perry as the toughest regional!

I haven’t scoured all the regionals, but the toughest bracket I’ve seen so far is Perry Meridian 120. Carleton Perry , Thang, and White.

With postseason amongst us, what is the most anticipated and greatest match you’ve seen in the state of Indiana? For me it’s an easy pick of Nick Lee vs Chad Red. The wrestling gods did us the ultimate favor of putting them in opposite brackets. The match had everything with Lee leading and Red closing it out. The match had it’s own controversy that is still debated to this very day. I want to thank both these fellas for elevating Indiana High School wrestling while giving us fans something to talk about for ages!

I have to go with 126 at EVV. Rioux, Dalton, Alstott, Montgomery, Hayhurst. One of them not making state is a travesty!

It’s time for another realignment. Castle sectional needs another solid name in the sectional maybe a Reitz, or anyone at this point. The Central sectional is one of the strongest whereas the Castle sectional is one of the weakest in the state. Surely they can do a shuffle there for balance.
