  1. Delineation between Varsity and JV is up to the Host. It would be on the contract the host school sends out. It is most important for sectional seeding as seeding is based on Varsity record. If the event is a Varsity event, then all matches wrestled at that event are Varsity matches. The exception would be the host site delegating a specific time/area for JV or Exhibition matches.

  2. Are any weekend events planning to add Girls to the event? I would like my teams to mostly compete on the same schedule similar to track or swimming. If anyone is planning to add girls this year please post so teams can start to align their schedules. I am checking with my AD on an 11/5 individual event for Girls at Southport HS, but need to align some of the boys weekend events.

  3. Share this, or post it wherever you want. You can double check qualifiers on Trackwrestling. Enter the event as a viewer, and click on Wrestlers in the top menu. You can sort however works best for you, but that is the current list of Qualifiers.

    Frosh/Soph State prices

    Cash at the door.

    Wrestlers - $30

    Spectators - One day band = $10, Two day band = $15

  4. I have been against this forever. Bumping the bracket is for seeded tournaments. It should only happen at Sectional. Indiana is based on draw after that. The athlete should be able to choose, or the bracket should just be locked in. There should NOT be an automatic bump in a blind draw…..

The Rooks/Garcia match was decided by a stall call. Ref threw up a BS double stall call early in the match. Goes to the ride out, and hits rooks for stalling in the final ride out.............. I didn't have a dog in that fight, but was extremely disappointed to see it decided by a ref.

As action went out of bounds, there was a stall warning, 1 seconds left on the clock.  On the restart there was an immediate stall call.

I was there to witness this.........blew my mind. Avon kid got a ridiculous gift that day.

  7. Cutting weight is a part of the sport for me. If they do go to a mat side weigh in we are still wrestling. Make the adjustments, and move on. I agree that logistics will be difficult, but if you just step on a scale when you check in for your first match of the day it could work. Might add an hour to a big tournament. Not saying I like the idea. I just think it is the only way to eliminate weight cutting IF that is a goal.
