Delineation between Varsity and JV is up to the Host. It would be on the contract the host school sends out. It is most important for sectional seeding as seeding is based on Varsity record. If the event is a Varsity event, then all matches wrestled at that event are Varsity matches. The exception would be the host site delegating a specific time/area for JV or Exhibition matches.

Rule 60 governs wrestling. It does not speak to the number of athletes per team. It only speaks to the number of teams to discern between a dual meet and a tournament. You can check the bylaws online. I would assume the home site would determine the number of entries.

Southport is working on a k-8 individual event on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Details to come!

Are any weekend events planning to add Girls to the event? I would like my teams to mostly compete on the same schedule similar to track or swimming. If anyone is planning to add girls this year please post so teams can start to align their schedules. I am checking with my AD on an 11/5 individual event for Girls at Southport HS, but need to align some of the boys weekend events.

I have been against this forever. Bumping the bracket is for seeded tournaments. It should only happen at Sectional. Indiana is based on draw after that. The athlete should be able to choose, or the bracket should just be locked in. There should NOT be an automatic bump in a blind draw…..

2016 (106) - #1 Cayden Rooks vs. #8 Asa Garcia . Both Freshman, Winner of this match was State Champ that year . UTB match.
Future 3x State Champ vs. 2x State Champ .
The match lived up to its hype to its Terr…….ible Draw !
2015 (106)- Braxton Annikin vs. Graham Rooks. Rooks 3-2
2015 (106)- Noah Hunt vs. Mason Miranda.
Miranda 4-2
The Rooks/Garcia match was decided by a stall call. Ref threw up a BS double stall call early in the match. Goes to the ride out, and hits rooks for stalling in the final ride out.............. I didn't have a dog in that fight, but was extremely disappointed to see it decided by a ref.

All,
Covid brought some new guidelines. Please check out the website for information, and to purchase tickets/pay for entry.

As action went out of bounds, there was a stall warning, 1 seconds left on the clock. On the restart there was an immediate stall call.
I was there to witness this.........blew my mind. Avon kid got a ridiculous gift that day.

Event flier attached. Spectators limited to 1000 people at a given time. Hopefully the multiple sessions will keep us under this limit.

I believe winter bulletin states "Varsity Record".

I think the IHSAA is going to follow the NFHS. The NFHS is going to follow the NCAA. The NCAA isn't looking too good right now on allowing sports this season. Only time will tell.

Cutting weight is a part of the sport for me. If they do go to a mat side weigh in we are still wrestling. Make the adjustments, and move on. I agree that logistics will be difficult, but if you just step on a scale when you check in for your first match of the day it could work. Might add an hour to a big tournament. Not saying I like the idea. I just think it is the only way to eliminate weight cutting IF that is a goal.

Southport's RWO will be cancelled for tonight and next week.

Looks like we will have Franklin Central and Beech Grove in the room today. A few others have been in. Come in and roll.
