  1. Findlay High School, Ohio will be hosting the “Findlay Invitational Girls High-School Tournament aka “The FIGHT” on Friday December 16 and Saturday 17, 2022. While this will be the first year of the girls’ event, it would have been the 6th year of the boys’ event that it will be replacing. Our hope is to recruit the best women's teams from around the United States and bring them to Findlay, Ohio for a NFHS Sanctioned in season event. Our goal is 40-50 teams, full 32 girl brackets and run it on 9 mats. This event will be run on trackwrestling.com and we will be live streaming it as well due to teams coming in from long distances. If you are interested in more information please email me at thefight2022@gmail.com Just to clarify again, we are only looking for state sanctioned HS girls wrestling teams. I know that many states are still in the process of full sanctioning and that is fine. We are not looking for clubs.

    UIndy going to D1

Probably be some sort of realignment with similar size schools in the same situation.

  3. Wouldn't be unprecedented, actually. Dallas Baptist are perennial top 25 in D1 baseball and used to be NAIA. They made a brief pit stop at D2 first but transitioned very quickly. Houston Baptist did the same for all sports. Is Grand View baptist?

  4. Not related, but I think we should start with Grandview.. from NAIA to D1. LOL.

  5. Sorry if I missed this some where else, but what are the girls weight classes for Indiana as an emerging sport?

  6. 14 Weight Classes – 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 155, 170, 190, 235. https://www.nfhs.org/articles/separate-weight-classes-for-girls-choice-of-weight-classes-established-in-high-school-wrestling/ Here is the information from NFHS. Usually the IHSAA follows these guidelines. My educated guess is these will be the weight classes for Girls when it gets sanctioned.

  8. What a match. Is there video of this anywhere? Love seeing high octane matches like those. Darn good win for Leavell as well.

  11. In Greenfield we have a girls head coach (Male) and possibly two assistants (both female). Our AD is working on a stipend for the head coach and we usually pay other assistants out of our club funds. Last year we went to the 6 all girls tournaments that were offered around the state and the girls wrestled and our 6 duals when we could get them a match. We are looking at 10-15 girls this season. They practice at same time as us, but will separate for part of the practice.

  12. He makes a great argument for it. Ben Kueter is 2nd pound for pound and at 220 and I think Carroll has the recent head to head. And that guy just won gold at U20s while Carroll does Greco today.

  13. So do you believe Carrol is #1 pound for pound in the nation? Dude looks pretty tough to me.

  14. Evan is being home schooled this upcoming season. Our family decided to do it for a few personal reasons. Evan is younger side of 2007 birthday. He would have been 18 at graduation if he went this season but will be 19 now when he graduates. He was a first year Cadet. We look forward to watching him compete in high school as well. He has been a 2 Middle School Champ and finalist all 3 times but will not attend that tournament as a hold back. As far as high school goes we haven’t made a family decision 100% yet. I do coach at a Indiana high school and this will be my 4th season.

In addition we added one of the largest teams from the state of Illinois (and 3 state placers returning) with Homewood-Flossmoor adding their committment yesterday. Keep your eyes on the Hammer List!
