Anybody know of any individual tournaments coming up in the Indiana, Ohio, Illinois area? track is dry right now and not showing any competition coming up in the area besides Midwest nationals in Illinois. I have also checked nuway, flowrestling, and supreme but no luck… surely there is some tournaments going down somewhere in these states.

Maconaquah is a really good 2A team. They will show it again next year. They beat New Prairie and other team this year during the season!

I think it's interesting that Maconaquah hasn't been offered an opportunity the last years with bid spot. Being the most consistent 2A team to fall short each year of automatic bid. Furthermore, beating teams that competed in state duals that season. It's hard to explain to wrestlers if 1 more wrestler would of....... we would of got the automatic bid. "But we missed the cut by .5 pt. again coach" Returning Line-up 1- State Placer, 4- Semi-state Qualifiers w/1 losing ticket round which 1 was an ISWA Folkstyle 3rd place, 4- regional qualifers which 1 was ISWA 2nd in Freesytle, and 2 incoming wrestler short of placing at middle school state in light weights.

Cascade HS in Hendricks County will be hosting an open room the next 3 Tuesdays with College Wrestlers as Clinicians. I have my first 2 set in stone will be announcing the 3rd in a few days. This is an opportunity to come and get a good workout in with kids from all around the area! Next Tuesday May 10th from 4:30-6:00PM we will have Dawson Combest of UINDY in the room! Dawson was a 3X IHSAA State Placer (8th, 3rd, 4th), a 3X GLVC First Team Member, and a 3X NCAA D2 All-American (7th, 4th, 7th). Dawson is a STUD and will show some great stuff with live at the end, hope to have a great room the week of Freesyle/Greco State! Tuesday May 17th from 4:30-6:00PM we will have Kyle Hatch of Wabash College in the room! Kyle was a 4X All-American In College (8th, 6th, 1st Team, 2nd), 3X Wabash College MVP, and held a career record of 137-13 with 110 bonus point wins! I can't wait to have Kyle in the room as well hope we can pack the room full! We have a big room and brand new mats that I hope to put to use the next few weeks before school is out! Sweep singles and undercook to hi C change off to double with LIFT FINISH crucial to have straight strong back and lift up off the mat to negate any crotch lift exposure etc.

Had a solid room last night but hoping to have our best room for our final RWO next Tuesday with Brock Hudkins! Brock is a STUD! 2x IHSAA State champion and a 2X NCAA National qualifier! Come get better next Tuesday!

Just an average coach here but id say anything where you are rotating or cutting the corner is good stuff. Head inside single or knee pull if you are trying to get to the back leg. I would say people almost want you to shoot a traditional high c so they can set the corner on you and go crotch lift or barrel roll. Staying out front never seemed to work that well unless you just have super good defense. just my thoughts.

Congratulations to the 2022 IHSWCA Academic Challenge place winners. This is our second year for the program. This year's top three were: 1st) DeKalb High School--Team GPA 3.569 2nd) Roncalli High School 3.539 3rd) Carmel High School 3.501 These Sectional champion teams distinguished themselves in the classroom as well as on the mat. The link at the bottom is the article that ran in the local paper about DeKalb's team. The IHSWCA is very proud of all of these teams. They were all athletically successful while also placing emphasis on the student aspect of student/athlete. Dawson Combest is coming in to show his best stuff and then we will finish with some live to prepare for freestyle/greco state this weekend! Enter through door 4 in the front of the building take a left as you come in the school and head upstairs once you get to the middle school gym! We have a great locker room to change and check weight and we have brand new mats down and they are ready to be used! Please reach out with any questions we have a big room and I would love to have a packed house the next 3 weeks!

That is correct. Solid group of Middle School athletes already and a few good HS kids returning in a strong Small School conference that includes Frankton and Oak Hill. They also just started including Wrestling as a league for the elementary school and numbers were pretty solid. Great AD that is supportive of whatever you need and a great group of alumni parents that are working to make MG a premier small school athletic program. Contact Ryan Plovick, AD at Madison Grant if you are interested at rplovick@mgusc.k12.in.us Madison County is a great place to coach wrestling because the coaches all want to see each other succeed and help each other learn and get better. This could be a great job for a young guy that wants to learn to build a program as many of the pieces are already in place, they just need a captain for the ship!
